No idea but I do the same. It's how I got through my teenage years. I don't do it as much any more though.

Those just look like cake pops without coating. I say you just do the cake pops route-- take some cake and roll it around with some frosting and walla! cake truffles! Sorry to hear you're sad, though.

Make vanilla cake (butter cake is best). Make homemade peanut butter frosting and mix with cake to make the balls. Dip in chocolate if you want.
OR make chocolate cake. Make homemade peanut butter frosting and mix with cake.
The first is like a tandycake. It's really yum.

I'm sorry you're having a hard time.
Those look like they were baked in a mold to me. I tend to go the brownie route when baking for the sads. Or cupcakes. Red velvet makes life better.
