Persoanlly, I preferI p.m. vs. pm, but either way it should be consistent throughout an entire document, correct?
I'm editing a gigantic schedule and it was written as 5:00pm, 5:00 pm, and 5:00 p.m.
The inconsistencies bother me. A LOT.
It also bothers me that this person asked me to send this huge print job and she didn't have it proofread. The last time she did this 500 cards had to be redone because of spelling errors.
It depends on what style you're following. I'm in PR, and we use the AP Stylebook, and for us, it's 5:00 p.m. If you're not tied to a specific style, though, I'd just pick the one you like best and make it consistent.
