so, i go to panera for lunch and i'm behind this woman who orders a salad. fine. normal--sorta, she customized the salad so much she may as well have just built her own, but hey, we like what we like (i only noticed because i was starving to death and she was taking forever to order). then she asks what bread comes with it. the cashier says "a roll."
SALAD WOMAN LOSES IT: i don't like those rolls. everyone likes that hard bread now. it's fashionable (aside: LOL), but i don't. i want something soft. like a croissant.
cashier: i'm sorry ma'am, we're out of croissants.
SW: HOW IS A BREAD PLACE OUT OF CROISSANTS?!?! that doesn't make any sense. I DON'T WANT ANY HARD BREAD."
cashier: [makes alternative suggestions]
SW: [shoots them down, asks that cashier check in the back for croissants "just in case", continually mutters under her breath about the abomination that is a "bread place" that lacks croissants]
cashier: sorry ma'am, we are definitely out of croissants. would you like some of the sandwich bread?
~~at this point, someone opens another register, so i order and then go about my business~~
so, i'm eating and i spot SW across the restaurant. she has TWO of those giant panera salad bowls on her tray. one has her salad in it, one is ENTIRELY FILLED WITH SLICES OF WHEAT BREAD. entirely. to the brim. there must have been half a loaf's worth of slices in there. she ate every one.
I hate it when people reward assholes for their asshole behavior. She will never learn what a jerk she is.
maybe she has a gluten allergy. we'll all cross our fingers.
i have to believe the giant bowl of bread is how some employee was amusing herself. like "oh, you want soft bread, HERE, have some soft bread you witch."

I'm torn between feeling like a rip-off that the post I just made is also in play form, about assholes, and laughing at this post, because I love reading about assholes.
