I found this out on Friday when I took her to the dr because she had this crazy rash that spread everyday and would get inflamed when she ate.
Her pediatrician knew immediately what was wrong and gave me samples of Soy formula to try. She wanted to go right to hypoallergenic formula but we had to try soy first in order to get my insurance company to cover the cost of the hypoallergenic.
Fast forward to today. L has been miserable on Soy so I call. They say she needs to switch and they will handle all the health insurance stuff.
Normally it takes 30 days for the first months supply to get sent. My doctor works with the insurance company on my behalf to get an emergency prescription ready for TODAY. A nurse has called me after every phone call to update me.
How amazing is this?! I didn't have to jump through hoops to get anyone to take me seriously. I didn't need to take my baby out in freezing cold weather to prove that she was miserable on soy, I just described symptoms over the phone. Plus, I didn't have to deal with the insurance company which is amazing.
Instead of feeling worried I finally feel relieved. My baby has been miserable eating for long enough!
