Hard wood floors: Getting spots out?

I pulled up the gross old carpet in DD1's BR today. The original hardwoods are in pretty good shape considering they are 60 years old. There are two spots that have liquid type stains. Other than sanding them down, are there any other methods to lighten/remove these stains?

FWIW, its not a big deal if we can't so much as lighten them without refinishing, as we plan to get an area rug anyway.

Is it a water spot? Did you try mayo? I know that works for water spots on furniture.

Most likely its urine. (DD1 has had a few accidents.)

Oh man. I don't know. You could try it but I don't know that it would work.
