If they're talking about the cards that some of my friends and acquaintances have, they're cards with the name and contact info of the mommy (and sometimes "mother of kid X and kid Y"). Like business cards for SAHMs so they don't have to constantly give out info that might get lost. I have a few of them from other moms in our Moms groups, PTA, Scouts, etc. Easier than reciting a number to have saved in a phone right then and there. Just hand them a card with a "here ya go."
ETA: I live in YuppieSAHMville. It's de rigeur in some circles around here. I don't use them. I FB, text or call. Number's in my phone, I'm good to go.

my mom ordered me some, I haven't used them. basically like others have said they're business cards for SAHMs to share info quickly. No one uses them here but back home they are relatively common. Here most everyone FBs or texts to exchange info.

I have them. I use them. They have my name, my cell & email, and my kids' names on them. They're cute.
They're a good way to quickly trade contact info at pick-ups/drop-offs when everybody is busy kid-wrangling and isn't inclined to yank out their phone.
I usually get complimented on them to my face, but from the general reactions here I have to assume people are internally side-eyeing me. Oh, well.

I have them too. I got them as a gift when E was small, and I bought some when Freddie came home. They're awesome and it's so much easier to whip one of those out than to mess with my stupid phone while wrangling two kids.
People here do something similar. Like a business card but with general contact information on it, and typically their address in English and in Mandarin (to show taxi drivers). I don't have them, but it is really helpful for getting people's info without having to put it into your phone at that exact moment.

I thought of you when I saw this I didn't side eye at all when you gave me one. I actually would like to get some.

I have them. A friend of mine designed and printed E's birthday invitations as a birthday gift and included some of these as well. I like them and have used them several times. I find it much easier to just hand over a card than to bother with getting phones out when we're trying to leave somewhere with kids in tow.
