Gift idea: 11 y/o boy

Have to get a gift for an extended family member. Can someone please fill me in on what's popular nowadays with boys around age 11?

I know he liked Army stuff at one point but I don't think that's still the case. We got him a Lego set last year that he seemed to enjoy, and his siblings got Stomp Rockets so we don't want to replicate that.

We don't really want to spend more than $25, because normally whatever we get is played with just once and then tossed in the pile along with tons of other stuff. I want to avoid video games, and I don't think any of the kids read

Would you consider movie tickets? Is an 11 year old mature enough to sit in a movie theater with a friend for a PG movie?

It might seem oddball, but my almost 11 yo nephew is into the rescue necklaces/bracelets. Is there a sport or a team he likes?

Last year my nephew, who was 11 at the time, wanted Bop It. He also really like dominoes and spent a lot of time building elaborate set ups.
