I have ordered sushi a few times lately (for delivery), most recently tonight, and every time they ask if I need two sets of chopsticks. When I ordered for H and I last weekend they asked if I needed five sets. Am I just a pig?
Tonight's order was a spicy tuna roll and six pieces of nigiri.
Haha...I used to order delivery sushi for just me often and they ALWAYS put in two sets of chopsticks. Your order sounds perfectly normal to me. I'd typically get a roll, a few pieces of nigiri, and maybe an app like edamame or a salad too. You are definitely not a pig!

I miss sushi.
I can put a hurtin' on some sushi. I don't think that sounds like a whole lot, but I'm not sushi expert. We usually end up with a giant boat filled with it... and then DH rolls me out to the car.
No, for one person, that is definitely normal. I'll do something like that, or I'll get two rolls. DH and I will a few rolls and a few pieces of nigiri.

I always wondered this too especially since sushi is often a group activity for me. We order a shitload of food then the all share. I have no idea what I have eaten at the end of the night.
The local Japanese place has a lunch special - 2 rolls plus soup for $x.99. So, I say that is a "regular" amount for lunch. Your dinner isn't that far off.
jene I don't think you can eat raw fish during pregnancy.. right? You know, if I'm wrong, don't tell me. I've gone this long. LOL.
We've been once since I got pregnant - I just had shrimp tempura & california rolls.
One of my friend's doctors wouldn't even OK because of the small possible chance of cross contamination. Yeah, no. I imagine I would likely go your route and settle for cooked sushi. It's soooo not the same, though. Hope you get some ASAP after stingysharklet makes her debut!
Stingyshark, I think it depends on your doctor. Panic free pregnancy told me it was ok, and an informal poll on MMM told me that a decent amount of people did it, so I am still eating it from places that I know are reputable
Stingyshark - I erred on the side of caution and didn't eat sushi. I mean yeah, probably you eat it and don't get sick, but if you are the rare case that does and then you F with your pregnancy... Not worth it for some raw fish.
Stingyshark - I have eaten raw sushi (usually just a piece or two of salmon) during pregnancy. From well-reputed restaurants. I avoid tuna-based things and steer clear of the "weird" stuff that's unlikely to turn over quickly, though. My midwife didn't give me a clear yes-or-no answer when I asked about this so I've been just going with my gut (no pun intended).
I miss stuffing my face with sushi though! Not a lot of room for food in there these days.

My belief on it is I'm more likely to get food poisoning from soft serve yogurt than sushi. I actually did get food poisoining from a Blizzard while pg with DS. Sushi I'm willing to take my chances with because I trust them to keep their stuff cleaner than DQ.

I really haven't erred on the side of caution at all; I eat the shit out of some runny eggs, and publix subs, steaks that haven't been cooked all the way, but for some reason I say no to sushi. Spicy tuna rolls are my favorite, and there is just no point if I can't have those!
I really can't remember what my OB said about fish; I'm pretty sure he said to avoid tuna, unless it's canned, and then I could have 12oz/wk or something like that.
Oh well, at this point I only have a few more weeks to go..

NO!
Yep. Talk about scary. I knew it was for real when I actually threw up because I NEVER throw up. Apparently I was the 7th person that night in there for it. Small town, they narrowed down quick which place was the culprit.
That was also the trip that made me wish that I could have a saline IV at home from time to time. It's amazing how much better being well-hydrated can make you feel.

Holy crap, that is horrible!
We quit going to DQ when the froyo place opened up.. but my Dad had gotten a blizzard from that that would not melt..It was like a chunk of Styrofoam. uhm no. That skeeved me out and our trips were WAY less frequent.
We don't get sushi too often, but last time we were in the city we ended up at a great sushi place. We got a "boat" which ended up being 3 rolls & about 8 pieces of nigiri. Plus we ordered a fire grilled pizza because we weren't sure if the sushi would be enough. I haven't been so stuffed in a long time....

I always get two rolls and sometimes something else like a miso soup or hand roll as well. They always give me at least two sets of chopsticks, sometimes three, even when I tell them I don't need ANY chopsticks. Clearly this is an international conspiracy.

The only thing I have to add, aside from that I think your order is perfectly reasonable and doesn't need two sets of chopsticks, is that now I'm craving sushi.

A friend of mine who is a nurse took me to eat sushi with her several times during her pregnancy. She loved those fatty salmon! She never got sick. Lucky lucky! I, on the other hand and another nurse, chose to err on the side of caution. I told myself the pregnancy thing is so short in the grand scheme of things.
eta: oops...OP, your order doesn't seem like a lot to me but maybe they just want to make sure and provide good cs?
