I went from being at the top of the regular class and kicking ass to being the lowest of the low in the advanced class. My weights are tiny compared to the other girls and I am coming in last during metcons pretty much everyday. I hate being a beginner all over again.
Also, my coach is a tyrant. In the regular class, the coaches helped out when needed but really didn't get in your face or push you. Tonight I came down off the pull-up rig and he was right there in my biznatch, counting down "3, 2, 1, get back up there." I realize that he's trying to make me a better athlete and competitor but dude, you're going to make me cry.
I'm exhausted and it's only Monday. I'm already sore and it's been an hour. This is hard, yo.
When I progress to a new distance/goal/etc, my husband has always told me that first you have to learn how to simply exist in the environment. His advice has always been true for me - give yourself time to settle in to what is new, and before long you'll be competitive in that new environment.

I agree, settle in first, THEN you can start really pushing yourself and you will be stronger and at the top of that class before you know it! You are stronger than my wimpy ass, that is for sure!

You don't suck at all! You're just continuing to challenge yourself and become stronger. Just give yourself some time. You'll be feeling better and back on top soon! Hang in there, lady!

You don't suck, and you know that, but you are still allowed to wallow a little. Want to feel better? Today we did Fran. I have been doing Crossfit for a year, and it took me 16:57 to finish. I may or may not have almost cried after the 4th thruster of the last series. But that was because I did it RXed on the thrusters (still needed an elastic for pull ups), and a year ago I could never in a million years have cleaned 30 kgs, much less lifted that amount over my head. So despite the awful time, I'm stoked. It's only up (well, down in time) from here!
Also, I ignore my coach when he yells at me, which luckily isn't his main approach. That's not how I motivate either, so I just tune it out and take the rest I know I need.
