Talk to me about getting a Personal Trainer...

My race season is over for 2013 save for a 5 miler on Thanksgiving and I don't plan on signing up for a Spring race so I was thinking of hiring a personal trainer to get me back into non-running H&F stuff namely weights and other types of cardio. 

Who here has had a personal trainer? How much should I expect to spend? What should I look for in a PT? I have heard some horror stories on here so I'm hesitant. 

Any info you can give would be great:)

I AM a PT and I also go to a PT    Credentials are #1!  Some PT's claim they are certified, blah, blah, but they really just took an online course.  

Hopefully they offer a free evaluation and free session so you can get to know them and the facility a bit.

Pricing is so relative.  I pay $35/30 minutes, but that will greatly vary.

Make sure they talk to you about your goals and any injuries.
