I really need to find something to do for exercise. I'm super unhappy with my body/weight and have recently gained about 8 lbs in the last few months. I'm about 40 lbs over where I'd like to be (which would still not put me in the greatest BMI catergory but I'm not too worried about that). Between working full time and still figuring out the motherhood thing almost a year later, I don't have a lot of time. Joining a gym is not in the cards due to my schedule since I get up super early for work already (5 AM) and don't get home until 6:30, just in time for dinner/bedtime. By the time that is done, it's 7:30-sometimes 8.
I'm looking for GOOD in home workouts - preferably 30-40 minutes max. I'm also looking into hiring a personal trainer that comes to the house if I can find one LOL. Most of the ones I have found are booked in the evenings.
I have netflix, hulu plus and amazon prime to access videos but am willing to purchase videos as well.
I have loved the Jillian Michaels DVDs I have. I rotate 30 Day Shred and Ripped in 30. 30 Day Shred is about 30 mins per workout and Ripped in 30 is about 35 mins per workout. I have gotten fantastic results and have been doing the DVDs and running for about 9 months. I went on a girls weekend trip and everyone was raving about how toned my arms were. They couldn't believe it was just from 30 minute workout dvds. Working out 5-6 days per week and watching what I eat (I do Weight Watchers) has helped me to lose 20 lbs since January 2013. +1 for Jillian Michaels. I love Ripped in 30, not only for the 35min workout length, but the format as well (3-2-1 minutes each of strength-cardio-abs) keeps it from getting too routine.
Fitnessblender.com (free) has great workouts that you can search for based on time, body part, strength/cardio, etc.
I'd also highly recommend MyFitnessPal for tracking calorie intake- it's been so helpful for me to gain awareness of what I'm truly taking in.
I lost a lot of weight in 2011 and 2012 using Jillian Michael's DVDs and a Biggest Loser workout DVD. I like 30 Day Shred, Ripped in 30, and Body Revolution - all by Jillian. There are tons of in-home workout ideas on Pinterest too. I find that this board provides SO much inspiration and motivation for me as well.
