I feel like people don't always understand my kind of humor...so then I feel all awkward and I'm all "you're not intelligent enough to talk to!" and then I'm all "what if I'm not as funny as I think?"...but then I'm all "nah, you're funny as hell!"...so...yeah.

I think people get my humor.. DH on the other hand.. No. No one ever knows what he's talking about. I've told him a few times that people don't get it.. oh well.
you are funny as hell, but I can see where it can go over peoples head
You should have seen when Jay's boss from Taiwan came to CA. 99% of my jokes had Jay's coworker laughing and snorting, but his boss would just stare at me blankly.

People who don't take themselves too seriously and have a good grasp of common knowledge have no trouble getting me. People with big 'ol sticks up their asses don't find me amusing at all.

This is exactly my husband. His sense of humor is very dry. And his sarcastic voice sounds exactly like his regular voice. Most people don't like him upon first meeting because of this. But when they realize that he's actually pretty funny, they warm up to him.

I think people get me. I'm fairly crass and insensitive at times but when around certain people I know when to tone that down most of the time. I'd like to consider myself to be funny so if others don't think so then I'd be a little disappointed because I am usually aiming for humor over drama/pity/shock (especially here on this board).

This is my husband as well. 99% he manages to offend someone when he first meets them. Yet, once they warm up to him, people figure out that he is actually really sweet, and very funny.
Perhaps if you actually showed a personal, human side of yourself, rather than just interjecting single one-liners all the time, people would get your humor more.
