Would they be pulling on their ear? The nurse hotline said no but I'm not sure. The baby had had a cold for about 2 weeks but just started touching his left ear this afternoon. He's slightly more fussy than usual but nursing normally. Sleep has been total crap the past two nights which is not normal but I'm not sure if it's because if the cold or 4 month wakeful.
I'm not an expert in the slightest and it's still early at four months, but could it be teeth? DD has been pulling on her ears since she started cutting her first tooth two weeks ago, but the pedi said that's really common.

my ds was diagnosed with a double ear infection this week at our routine 4 mont well child visit - he oddly had no symptoms whatsoever. i think that 4 months may be a little young for them to start pulling on ears though. older kids definitely will, not sure about 4 month olds. i would be concerned if there was fussiness, not eating, and fever...
