It was an inaugural race and the course kind of sucked... There were all these random out-and-backs and then about a mile of narrow gravel at mile 12 where we merged with 10k runners.

I didn't look at my watch once and just ran by feel, and was really happy to just squeak in under 1:42. So a few minutes slower than a PR, but I'm not as out of shape as I thought!
