joenali - or anyone who's used the plan. Do you think those super easy spins on Sunday mornings before long runs are helpful? I've never done that before - I always just brick with a long ride + run on Saturday and then do a long run Sunday. I am planning on following the plan, I was just curious about your experience with those.
I have not used the plan yet, obviously, but my masters coach (former pretty-successful triathlete) has mentioned that we should be doing that before every long run.
I am saying this slightly tongue-in-cheek because, hello, it's ironman training, but it just seems like such a big production to do that! I'll try to do some trainer time before long runs a few times and see how things go.
I did them occasionally. But skipped them quite a but because of time constraints. If I did them it was on the trainer. I don't think they are necessary, but do what you can.
I mean long ride the day before for hours and hours and then a long run the next day. It's a lot of time to be gone.
Do what you can do and don't get down on yourself if you can't do it all, all of the time!
