I'm wondering if it's worth sending and gifting homemade goodies (cookies, candies, spiced nuts and Breads.) This isn't to supplement an actual gift. I tend to give this stuff to people I don't exchange with because baking is my hobby but now I'm wondering if people get too much stuff and don't really care to get more! Everyone who gets something has sat down to a meal I cooked before. I know some people get grossed out by random homemade gifts from people they don't know that well. What do you think? And vote on what you would like to receive!

I'm not grossed out by it but I'm not a big sweets person. If you loved to bake and wrapped up some goodies for me as a friend, I would really appreciate the gesture!

I like breakfast breads, like banana nut, coffee cake, apple, and pumpkin. They freeze well, if I don't need them right away, and it is an easy breakfast for the kids, so DH and I can sleep in, just wrap up a slice in some plastic wrap before going to sleep for them to get themselves, or when we are going to a big lunch or dinner to tide them over.
A random coworker? Not so much. But a definite YES on a good friend doing this. I want to be your friend, actually, so I can have some of those whoopie pies.
A good friend of mine used to make homemade chocolate dipped stuff every year and it was so awesome.
I started doing a cookie exchange last year with friends. MH loves it. I know that isn't exactly the same, but free food is always welcome in our house.
This year I plan on making biscotti for our neighbors. I hope they aren't creeped out by it. We did have one neighbor give us cookies when we moved in; I assume that they will not think we are strange for doing this. The jury is out on what the others will think though, lol.
Yes, I actually much prefer homemade stuff like this to all of those gift-baskets of premade/prepackaged foods. I have yet to receive a good basket that is not homemade or specifically made/baked in-house at a local place.
ETA that I would LOVE if someone made me peppermint whoopie pies!
I love receiving baked goods from someone who I wouldn't otherwise exchange gifts with. I love sweets, and I wouldn't feel guilty about not having a gift in return. I say go for it!

For me, it's like anything else. If I like the thing that you've made/bought, I like receiving it. If you bake me something that I don't like eating, it will probably get thrown away - but I will appreciate your effort.
For homemade, I'd prefer cookies. If it's storebought I like nice chocolates. Both of those are good because I can either eat them myself or put them out if I have company.

I'm all about the homemade food gifts. If I like it, great. If I don't care for that flavor but it's edible, I'll take it to work - I work in an office with 35 people and it will be gone before lunch. If it's really bad, I'll just toss it. At any rate I don't have to dust it - win!
