I miss one of the goofier pre-Thanksgiving "traditions" that my friends/former coworkers back in the Boston area used to celebrate. We would leave work around lunchtime on the day before Thanksgiving and go to a Chinese buffet. Then commence stuffing ourselves and getting really drunk on scorpion bowls. The justification was that it was to stretch out our stomachs in preparation for holiday overindulgence but really it was a good excuse to day drink and blow off steam, especially for my friends anticipating upcoming holiday family drama.
I can't believe I'm wistful over bad Chinese food, but there you have it. Oh, and one of my drinking buddies/former coworkers is pinksapphires' MIL, LOL
That sounds fun! And now I want bad Chinese buffet. Once, in college, we were at one, and afterwards we got some fruit. Well, we got some strawberries and were just raving about how they were the most delicious strawberries ever! And then we went back for more and realized it was because they had sugar on them. Lol. We seriously didn't know, and all felt really dumb.
Lol, I can picture us doing that too. Especially after drinking .

Hahaha, I love this story! We used to go out and get wasted tonight (which is amateur day, I know). But Friday was the real gem. Blackout Friday! It didn't matter if you were too hungover to eat on Saturday, lol. Put those local bars out of the red and into the black!
That's a great tradition. I may have to start it up!
Today holds a very special place in my heart. DH and I were coworkers that developed into friends long before we started dating and this night, seven years ago, he asked me where my friends and I were headed (since it is the biggest bar night of the year). He met up with us, we both started sloppy-drunk-making-out and the rest, as they say, is history!
