Yeah, I like the idea in terms of being motivational I guess, but I think complete rest days are so so important and I don't like that this discourages them. It also kind of seems like a recipe for burnout for people who may not be terribly active but try to complete this. I'm being a downer, sorry.
'Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather, to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, screaming 'Woohoo! What a ride!' So every day is a holiday and every meal a feast."
I'm doing something similar, #EveryDayCounts, which is 1 mile everyday between Thanksgiving and New Years. The difference is the 1 mile can be whatever--running,walking,elliptical, biking, etc. So far:
Turkey Day--4 mile turkey trot Black Friday-2 mile dog walk Saturday--8 mile run--last long run of my 1/2 training plan Today--1.75 mile dog walk
I walk the dog at least once a day, so this shouldn't be too hard
I've done a Holiday running streak every year for the last four years, and I'm doing it again. It really helps me stay motivated during the cold winter months.
Wooohoo! Yay for streakers! I missed Friday too bc of a funeral and the 10+ hours of driving there and back, but I started yesterday. I'll post on Monday's to check in with all the streakers!
