Its not Thanksgiving anymore...but I'm at work (only one in the office) so...
Yesterday I made the Thanksgiving day staples for DH and I - we ate it on the couch while watching Dexter. Then he went to work for 10hrs and I got drunk. At home. Alone. To top off my day I decided to bake cookies. Thats a great plan 2 beers in. By the time I got to the last batch I had cracked open a few more and gave up on cookies - there is still some dough sitting in the fridge. The last few trays I baked have not yet been taste tested...they may never get eaten. Oops.
I also tweeted way too much and almost spilled my guts online because beer + wine apparently makes me overly emotional and talkative. Geez.
Ok, not the 12 miles on the plan, but I did just get 9 miles in, running alongside DH, BIL, & our oldest nephew while they rode their bikes on the trail. After all of the wine, & not getting into bed from shopping until 2 AM, that's really the best I could ask for. The nephew was tired & I didn't want to get all crazy Aunt running nazi on him. Lol
The one sad thing about not hosting Thanksgiving is no leftovers, but we were invited back for dinner.
We are not allowed to eat leftovers. They get either frozen after dinner immediately or thrown out. Something about repressing memories of dinner trauma or some shit.
Fuck that noise.
This is a Thanksgiving sin. You should steal the leftovers and run - they'd never catch you.

I'll never understand people who don't eat leftovers. I enjoy cooking, but sometimes it is just nice to not have to cook. Mr. GT didn't eat leftovers when we were first married, but he also doesn't cook, so he learned to like leftovers.

Did y'all go to Concord Mills? That place is a nuthouse on Black Friday/midnight

Yes! It really wasn't bad when we got there at 8:30, but I was freaking out by 1 AM. I apologized & told them I needed to get the hell out of there.
I drank. Raspberry vodka and Sprite. I don't drink vodka and I rarely drink sprite. They were soooo good I had 4. I've reached my drinking quota for 2014.
DH and I are having our Thanksgiving dinner tonight. My turkey wellington is in the oven as we speak. I am thinking about popping open a bottle of wine in a few, but first I need to finish the bottle I opened last night. I plan on getting my drink on tonight.

My only vent is my abysmal run this a.m. My FIL can drive me crazy but he was shockingly calm this holiday and all the food was great. Had a great run yesterday and set out for nine today and could only run six. Really got in my head. Need to shake it off. And agree with the other posters, I love to drink. I would choose a glass of wine over baked goods any day.

We used to live near there - and that year it opened at midnight (none of this 8pm nonsense) - my mom, my sister & I got there to check out nike & loft outlets and were out of there. I could've never stayed until 1am! Hope you have recovered today

I was talking to my SIL about where you live & she was jealous. She said when they were building, she thought it was too far from downtown, but now they wish they lived a bit further out. She was very envious that you are on the lake.

nonsense! I worked in uptown & it took less time from where we live now than when we were near your SIL!
Tell her there are plenty of homes for sale out my way
