Yesterday at Thanksgiving, we told everyone we are expecting a boy. I made them all promise that nothing would get posted on Facebook because we are telling Matt's family tomorrow when they celebrate their Thanksgiving. We did the whole cupcake with blue center thing and then I changed into a "Team Boy!" shirt for the rest of the night.
My parents hosted and had our family plus my brother's in-laws were there. Brother's in-laws brought this stuffed turkey hat and made everyone take a picture wearing it. They insisted that I take a picture with the turkey hat on my belly while I was wearing the "team boy" shirt. Cute, no big deal. Before taking the picture, I specifically said, "please don't post this on Facebook" to which he said, "of course not."
So today what happens? You guessed it. Brother's FIL posted it on Facebook and it was reposted by one of my uncles. My uncle is friends with all of Matt's family plus many of my friends on FB so anyone could have seen it.
I immediately called my uncle and asked him to take it down. Then I called SIL to have her dad take it down. I've spent the last 30 minutes crying and swearing and crying again. The chances that anyone saw it is slim, thankfully, but why can't people just honor a simple request of "please don't post this on Facebook?" I will be so sad for Matt's family if the surprise is ruined for them because they are really excited for tomorrow. Grrr!

That sucks! Hopefully no one saw it, and if anyone did, they keep it to themselves since they know you are seeing them tomorrow. I hate that they couldn't honor your request.
I'm sorry this happened. I had it happen to me last week and I was really mad and felt like my privacy was violated.
Some people are committed to overhearing and leaving little room for privacy when it comes to social media. Last week, I found out the only way to sort of get around it is to not allow people to tag you or post to your wall ( either at all or you review it first).
Ugh, why can't people follow direction!! It's so simple. This has happened to me too many times as well...I'm sorry. I'm sure it will still be exciting tomorrow for everyone!
