I miss it, too, but oh well. And, I'm not gonna lie, I love to get my drink on!
Honestly, though, right now the smell of beer (my drink of choice) is no bueno, so that makes it easier to take being around. Also, the no-yuck next morning is good. But, yeah, so many of our traditions, especially around the holidays, involve at least a bit of booze. Okay, a good amount of booze, lol.
I come from a family of big wine drinkers and am already a little sad about Sober Christmas this year. I didn't miss it much during early pregnancy but man I am starting to really miss it now.
Man I really really wanted a glass of wine at T-day dinner. I'm on antibiotics so I had a good excuse, but it was hard not to have a small glass. Especially since dinner was so tasteless.
I had a glass of wine last night and it was a huge letdown. Maybe I'm just not into it anymore? It's been a year since I had an alcohol, I thought it'd be better! Nope.
I'm cracking up at you fake chugging lol.
I can empathize with this! We were on vacation last week and I treated myself to what I thought would be a glass of nice crisp rose one afternoon. The resort is actually known for their excellent wine cellar so I had high hopes. It was so meh that I didn't even finish half of it. I really hope pregnancy has not killed my taste for wine!
For the shot you have to actually put it in your mouth, and have a chaser drink ready to go. Instead of swallowing down the shot and chaser, you spit the shot back into the chaser beverage. Just make sure to make the swallow motion both times or else it's pretty obvious you're holding liquid in your cheeks.
Chugging is much easier to fake. You just keep your lips shut against the bottle or block the opening with your tongue while you fake swallow and make faces. lol. Most people are too drunk to notice whether the bottle level goes down.
Blech, I can't imagine having to hold liquor in my mouth like that! I have to tell my work as soon as I know I'm pregnant since there's some materials I can't be around, so I end up blabbing about it to pretty much everybody right away. So thankfully I've never had to fake drink.
I really, really miss my booze right now though, especially with the holidays starting.
On the plus side, our restaurant bills have been lower since I am not sampling cocktails anymore or having a glass of wine with dinner "just because." And I am still turned off by fish, 32 weeks later, so I end up ordering chicken or even vegetarian dishes which are the cheaper items on the menu.
