I REALLYYYY want the City Select! It's on sale right now so the second seat is basically free ($180 savings) but still $490. That's a lot of money. But it's amazing!
We'd have to put it on a cc (that has other debt on it already).
I think I'd want the City Mini Double if we don't get this (which is $450 anyway!)
Realistically we'd probably get a sit & stand or kolcraft contours (around $200)
Obviously we do not *need* a double stroller for a while...
Is the City Select good for a newb and a (small) 2.5 yr old? Is it worth it?
@kkfeb (can someone tag her? She has numbers in her name right?) you have the Select and love it right?
I love the CS I'm using it more and more now that Theo can sit in the seat instead of the car seat. I especially like that I don't have to choose whether to bring a single or double stroller. If we get where we are going and I think Max will just want to walk the whole time, I don't put the second seat on. Easy.
My only complaint is that it can't be folded with both seats on...but compared to all the positives about the stroller, it's a minor one. It sounds like a great deal!
Yes, I love it! It's a single or double. We've had it two years and it was way over the budget. Jump all over that price ours was about $750 and that was a steal. We ended up getting the console and trays too.
Kalvin is very tall and is still using the stroller, he climbs in and wants to ride. We have them sit opposite ways because some little girl loves to kick.
It's easy to push, turns on a dime, huge basket, and folds flat with the seats off. We never have to worry about packing another stroller if we only have one.
It can basically go everywhere I've pushed it up a steep hill in grass and through sand. I push it with one hand. It doesn't feel like I'm pushing 52 lbs of kid. I swear his single stroller was heavier. We've been using it since the day we bought it and never have looked back.
Also, look carefully online. We found our $750 stroller online somewhere for $550. You might be able to find a better deal somewhere on a random baby website.

I actually found it easier with the carseat attachment probably because I only had to get one kid out of the carseat and into the stroller.

Where are you finding this deal? We are stroller creepers & met a woman yesterday who had the CS. She had a 3yr old & a 3month old. She said that she loves it.
I would wait until the model years go on huge sale (last time it was in Feb-March) since you don't need it for awhile
Unless they made some changes. I bought mine Nov 2011 and Albeebaby had the Diamond for $499 but that was discontinued. We priced our local children's furniture with the chains and my local store was cheaper. They also sold the new 2012 line where the chains were selling the 2010-2011 lines. There were changes to the seats, the brake and I think the basket. Also price the accessories, you can find a difference of $10-20 per item.

That is true I like that about it. But Theo is huge and his weight plus that of the carseat made the stroller feel very top heavy. He is just about 19 pounds at 4 months. So in our case, I don't mind unbuckling him. And then I can change the configuration of the seats as well.

I've Been eyeing this one and haven't even seen it on sale Really.. I think this is a Black Friday/cyber Monday deal which is why I don't want to wait until Christmas either...

It was on AlbeeBaby for $499 and today I see it on amazon for $485 (didn't see that yesterday)
We are getting it, too, but waiting until February or so for the new models to come out. That's when we bought our car seat and City Mini last time. They were on super discount to sell.
ladybug I NEED to get rid of our sit and stand that works as a snap n go. I will gladly give it to you guys. Let me know.
lol! Well I just won't tell him until I decide! Did you like it? The only thing I'm worried about is D can't relax/sleep in it- but she doesn't usually sleep in the stroller anyway (very occasionally at Disneyland)
Allbeebaby has it for $440 right now. I was trying to convince my husband on the bumbleride indie twin for 20% off at Allbeebaby but didn't win. I've been looking at the CS today.

Wow! Last night it was a little more- I wonder if it will be even less on Monday?
Maybe, I'm going to keep watching. IWe were given an old sit and stand, and it feels so bulky to me and LONG. DH doesn't want another stroller, but I'd be willing to get rid of at least two to get a good double. With two so close in age we should get good use out of it,

I love my CS. I have used it so much with both kids. B turned four this summer, but we still use it as a double for going to parks in the summer when he would have trouble walking/keeping up for the distance we are going. For us, it was definitely worth the money for helping me to easily get out with both kids.
