How are you guys holding up?….tomorrow starts our month!!
I am nervous about my u/s on Friday….we will finally get a better idea of how big this baby really is! At 35.5 weeks the baby was 7ibs10oz so they referred me to MFM. My OB said she'd only induce if the baby is 10 ibs, but at that point I don't think I want to be induced, I think I may just want a c-section. I am a small person & I just don't think I can naturally give birth to a baby that size. My mom who is like my twin body-wise said when she gave birth to my sister naturally (8ibs) she couldn't sit for weeks….eek.
Also, I want to go on a date with DH tonight but I have no good ideas of what to do, etc. Someone inspire me….or I may not do anything lol.
mekiakoo - yes, you will know if you get contractions. I only got a couple once when I was having a really bad day and I was super stressed out. Other than that I get cramps and pressure. When I spoke to my doctor she said she didn't need to check for dilation since it wouldn't really tell her anything unless I was having regular contractions. Also, don't worry about a sub - they will find someone. They didn't finalize my replacement until the day before I went on leave!

I'm just ready. The nerves haven't kicked in yet, and I am just over being pregnant. I have had a lot of anxiety this pregnancy for a number of reasons, so I just want him healthy in my arms. I still have a lot on my to-do list to prepare, so I really need to kick things into high gear this week between preparing for Christmas and baby.
vmars: I hope you get good news at your u/s. U/s weight measurements are notoriously off, but I hope your doctors can help you make whatever decision you're most comfortable with. I keep waiting for my OB to suggest a growth u/s (she did one at 37 weeks last time because I was measuring weeks ahead). I am again, but maybe she just figures I measure big (DD was not big when she was born -- 7 lb 3 oz at 39w1d).
mekiakoo: You will definitely be able to differentiate a real contraction from a BH or cramp. I started getting menstrual-like cramps around this point last pregnancy, but when I had a real contraction, I knew. They are different for everyone, but for me, they felt like very, very bad gas pains.
redpenmama - I hope they are off too, but MFM's machines are supposed to be very accurate. My sister went to them for her u/s and they said 6ibs10oz and he was born the next day 6ibs12oz.
@callmefia - the discharge is unreal here too! It's starting to get thicker so I am hoping I am starting to lose my mucus plug. I will ask the doctor if I am capable of delivering a larger baby….I have an appointment tomorrow. Hopefully this baby just likes to fake us out & he's not as big as they are predicting!

vmars: That's awesome that the MFM is so accurate! I think my growth u/s was pretty accurate as well -- my OB said if DD was born around the due date, she'd guess 7.5-8 lb, and she was just over 7 at 39 weeks. I have a couple of friends who were induced because their OBs thought the baby was huge, and they ended up having babies that were under 7 lbs. But, I'm sure the MFM estimates are much more spot on, so you'll have the right info to make the decision that works for you.

I'm so glad it's going to be December! I tend to fall apart the last part of PG. I have lots of pains, acid reflux, and I get very emotional. I'm the type of person who likes to do things myself and it's hard not doing it. Like I really like to Black Friday shop and I couldn't go. My MIL picked a few things up for me but it's not the same YKWIM. I do much better with a newborn and being sleep deprived.
I am ready for things to start happening. I wouldn't normally say that at this point, but having the induction looming this coming Thursday is making me wish more than ever I go into labor on my own. I keep reminding myself that Thursday is still five days away, though, so there's a good chance! We're just really ready to meet her.

I'm getting excited, but nervous. I am trying to finish a couple of things up in the next couple of days so that I'll be ready no matter what. Wednesday is my last day of work, assuming I don't go into labor before then! No contractions yet, though.

I am forcing myself to try to take it easy these last two weeks. Ha, after hosting thanksgiving that is. Christmas is wrapped except my gifts for DH. Trees are up but naked. Christmas is a big, big deal for me, so I realize normal people would probably not have put up all three threes and house decor, lol.
BH have picked up the last two days and omg the reflux is awful. She hasn't dropped but DS didn't until the night before he was born. Had a little brown blood throughout the day yesterday which reminded me to pack my darn bags!
I'm a little late to the party but I want to join. In several ways I'm ready but in even more I'm not! I really need to pack a bag, install the car seat, and finish the nursery. Then I'll be ok. Plus it would be nice to have the lamaze class this weekend andhospital tour next weekend before she comes. So let's wait two weeks and then she can come!
I am over being nauseated all the time and the uncomfortableness! My OB won't do an internal check until 39 weeks, so I have no idea of any progress, although she has definately dropped which is nice that she's not playing with my ribs any more!
I haven't had an internal check since like 37 weeks? I have no idea if I'm dilated at all.
I like that sporklemotion said she had no contractions and then went on to have her baby!! So there is hope for all of us feeling nothing yet!
Seriously, though-- I wrote my earlier post in this thread one hour before my water broke, and less than24 hours before Esther was born. So you truly never know! I hope all of the December babies get here safely and soon-- I can't wait to see them!
I've started getting this feeling where it feels like i'm trying to lift a bowling ball in my stomach when I get up. Sometimes I stagger. Come on, baby. Please come out safely! (I've also developed a new fear about her not doing well in there. I am a mess).
Hugs! I hope she comes soon! I get that same feeling when I stand and go to take a step - like she's going to fall right out. Really unnerving, but I guess a good sign that these babies are low?
I feel you on the fear aspect, too, except mine is that she's going to go breech before my induction on Thursday. :-\
ahhhhh i'm so excited for you guys!!! i love you december ladies!!
i'll be another to say not to worry that you're not feeling anything yet. i went to bed on friday feeling completely fine, and woke up at 7:30 saturday morning with contractions 3.5 minutes apart. no water breaking. no bloody show. things truly went from nothing to straight hell (lol) overnight.
i can't wait for the announcements to start flooding in!
oh! and mekiakoo, you WILL know an active labor contraction when you feel one. they don't play.
eekkkK!! i'm so excited!
Congrats on your baby! You are totally right on things changing quickly -- it was the same for me with my last pregnancy. I made no progress from 36-39 weeks, and my OB was talking a 41-week induction like 12 hours before I went into labor at 39 weeks. That doesn't make the waiting any easier, but it really can happen any minute!
Hopefully she's too stuck now and will be the right way! I am actually really hoping I get induced either at my appt on Wednesday, or we make a plan to do it Thursday. Ideally, I'd like to go into labor on my own, but now I just want her safely out and in my arms.
Thanks, I hope so too!
I understand! The emotions are crazy at this point. I'm going to hope you don't even make it to your Wednesday appointment, but if you do, I hope they will offer you induction!

So now sameoldash, I think I'll be seeing you in the MOTN posts on MMM. It'll make you feel less crazy!
