Beener and breezy8407, do you remember what rooms you stayed in at EPM? We're thinking about booking this weekend since they are running a 20% off deal.
We decided on a swim-up suite, and think that the Excellence Club probably isn't worth it for what we want/need. We're between a quieter room like building 2 on the lazy river behind the spa. Or maybe building 7, which seems like it's right in the middle of everything, but could be loud? Or have no privacy?
Any info you guys can share would be great! If you remember which room you had, if you liked the location, etc. Was the resort loud at all by the pool bars, especially at night? Also, was it hard to get chairs at the regular pool or at the beach?
For our honeymoon at Riviera Maya, we were in room 9007. I can't remember what room we had for our anniversary at PM. Both were secluded ones on the lazy river and I wouldn't want it any other way. We went for a romantic trip and having a more private room allowed us to be adventurous and feel like exhibitionists without really being exposed
I always felt bad for people with room closest to the bar. It is adults only so people are up drinking very late. And drunks can be loud. You will love the swim up room which will likely take you to a bar but if not, they have wait staff who walk around and go room-to-room taking drink orders
The chairs on the beach were not as bad to get as other resorts I've been to. But, we are early vacation risers and would be on the beach by 9. We called in room service breakfast every night for the next morning and used that as a wake up call. It was delivered between 7:30-8 depending on how we were feeling.

Beener, after more talking with H about it last night we are pretty much 100% set on a quiet room behind the spa. We're just like you guys in that we want to go for relaxation and privacy. (But I am way too chicken to do anything adventurous like you!! Get it, girl!!)
We figure if we want partying we can pick up and get some chairs down by the pool bar. Otherwise we can choose to be on our patio in the quiet. I read that the whole resort usually quiets down around 10:30/11, which is perfect for us.
I am SOOOO excited about this!!! Thank you for your input!! We have the Beeners to thank for telling is about this place!

ruby412, you are absolutely going to love that place. I am soooo jealous that we aren't going along with you! What day do you guys leave?
I absolutely can't wait!! We're probably going to go June 22-26. But we might go the following week. It depends on how close we want to leave to the end of the school year. Probably booking tonight. Ahhhh!!!
I don't remember the room # but we had a view of the main pool and the water. Not the excellence club though.
We went in August, so it was pretty quiet.
I am jealous! I loved that place. We are going to cabo in March to try something new, so I will get my fix
Cabo will be awesome and you have 3 months of anticipation! That is pretty much the best part for me, lol. Are you guys doing an adults all-inclusive? Or are you taking the twins?
Beener One more question... Some people said that the buildings next to the spa were a far walk from everything. H and I like to walk so we don't mind that at all, unless it's like a half hour walk to the beach or something. Do you remember? I can't find anything online about the actual size of the resort or a resort map with an miles/feet or km key.

We are not taking the kids. It's not adults only and not as nice as ERM but it will be fun.

It will be fun! Any vacation sans babies is sooo worth it!
Sort of butting in but we stayed there on our honeymoon too...we had the swim up suite sort of closer to the main pool. I don't remember it being loud at all. We went in like the end of September though and it seemed like hardly anyone was there. Idk if it was the season or it's always like that but we were able to get pretty much whatever spot we wanted without a problem. The whole place was very quiet it seemed like it was pretty much all couples. We like lived in the pool part they have chairs in the pool, it was heaven! We did go over to the spa one day and I remember it being a little far but nothing crazy. It might be kind of far from the beach.

You are not butting in at all! I didn't know (or forgot) that you were at EPM. We booked last night and I am so excited. How was your spa treatment? I definitely will be getting something while I'm there!!
Oh and I wanted to add that I didn't think things were very far apart. We stayed at the Grand Palladium for a friends wedding and it was wayyy too big in my opinion. Things were very far apart and it was a long walk from our building to everything.
