Last night our power went out by the time I made it home and was out until about 10pm. The electrical company had estimated it would be out until July 3 at 10pm and I was about to freak! H ran out and borrowed my moms generator but by the time he made it home it came back on. I do not know how I would have prepped for a party with no power! Not to mention I have a ton of emails and stuff to go thru and I haven't had much time to do it.

Funny thing about going that long without power, even when you know it's not on (and hasn't been for a couple of days) it will not stop you from flipping on the lightswitch when you enter a dark room. Even though you know it won't work, it's just habit and would make me giggle when I did it even when I had a flashlight in my hand.
I hate power outages! My parents had to go 5 days and then 7 days without power last year between the hurricane and the freak ice storm. It was awful, I felt so bad for them.

I always do this also! So funny.
Glad it came back on, Wine! I hate being without power. The longest I've gone without is 8 days during the ice storm a few years ago. It was awful!

I cant imagine how people ever lived without power. Only a few hours and I was going out of my mind! What was odd is my area is one of the places we didnt even get a drop of rain yesterday so I dont know what caused it to go out. Possible the heat blew the transformer? I just hope we dont have any more issues before I need to cook/prep food for the party!
Several years ago, when FL had the 4 hurricans come through, 2 of them knocked out our power and the longest we went with out power was 8-10 days. I was aweful, because we had a well and no power means no water.

Yeah, happened for me post-hurricane Ike in 2008. We went 5 days and were on the lucky side, my parents went 12 days and my dad even works for the power company! But when the lines are downed from trees and debris, it's not an easy fix and even with men working overtime it took a while for all the lines to get restored.
