I could see that! My H cleans quite a bit and does his own laundry and it definitely keeps the bitching down
same here! In fact mine is probably the opposite of most households, where usually he's the one who has to keep ME in check when it comes to cleaning duties. He was raised in a military household, I was raised by half-hoarders.
I like how the main point is basically "if the wife is happy, you are happier".
:Y:
For the most part, my H is pretty good about helping clean and does his own laundry (we're actually at the laundromat now!).
Since I'm not working I don't mind doing most of the household chores, but the one thing that drives me CRAZY is when he forgets to rinse off his dishes. I start twitching, haha.

Me too! Well, H was raised by a crazy Italian obsessed with cleaning, but my mom comes from a line of hoarders.

My MIL is a compulsive shopper and hoarder, but it has actually caused my H to be the opposite. Not necessarily when it comes to cleaning, but definitely when it comes to storing and getting rid of items - he's pretty minimalistic and likes to throw things out.

I think another part of my problem is that it's my first house and I tend to forget the areas I don't use daily. The H had lived in a house before and was well domesticated, so he is more accustomed to what needs to be done regularly to be considered a clean house. I have the basic things that I remember to do, but he definitely ends up doing the majority of it (he gets paid in sex, so most of the time he doesn't complain).

H is definitely "tidier" than me as far as shoes/clothes laying out. He was raised in a house where he was in BIG trouble if they made messes and didn't clean up. Having no sisters he also got stuck doing the bulk of the dishes/vacuuming since his brother is a little brat. I on the other hand am a way better deep cleaner and organizer than him. I think it makes for a good mix.
