Good for her. My stretch marked tummy-pooch was predestined by genes and I'm comfortable with that.
Edit: Not to mention, it took 4 days just for my water weight to start dropping off. I think I know one person who was in her pre-pregnancy clothes by that point and it was because she was malnourished from an extreme case of HG that lasted well into her 7th month.
Ehhh, I am kind of all good for her. I mean I definitely did not look like that without a lot of time and a ton of hard work, but if we are going to celebrate every body then we shouldn't pick only the ones that make us feel good. She probably worked hard before and during pregnancy to look like that after-and if it was me I would be proud too (I wouldn't share on social media though).

I have a hard time believing that. At 4 days pp, your uterus is still very enlarged. That alone would give you some tummy. Princess Kate, perfect in every way, still had a bump a few days later, lol.
I saw a picture of this chick at 38w pregnant on TV and she barely had a bump, so maybe that kid was just curled around her spine and she really was lucky not to get any belly.
I live in Norway and the media's been going nuts here. She's the biggest blogger here and I followed her on Instagram. To be honest - and it's hard to say this w/o sounding like a total bit h, but I thought it was a thoughtless selfie tbh:
1) creating unrealistic expectations - she has a combo of invredible genes, super strict diet and an extreme fitness regime (running an hour or more until the day she gave birth, as well as personal trainer for strength). She also had a teeny tiny belly when pregnant and her daughter weighed less than 6lbs at full term.
2) I think she is perpetuating the focus on the importance of being "sexy"- even 4 days after birth.
When I first saw the photo it made me feel so so shitty (I was 1 month postpartum).
But by all means - good for her, I would be thrilled if I looked like that - ever! But it would have been better if she waited at least a month after birth IMO.
At 4 day PP I was just getting out of the hospital and managed to weigh more going out than I did going in (yay CS water weight). She looks great but it's not realistic and I hope other women realize that.
I wish people would ignore stuff like this and focus on the woman who are trying to paint a more realistic view of the PP body (i.e. Kristen Bell and Princess Kate) If this is what you are doing 4 days PP, worrying about how you look so you can start posting sexy selfies online instead of enjoying your baby, you've got other greater issues.
Sure, it's a little shitty. But it's her job to look like that and it sounds like she worked really hard to do so. I didn't have the drive to try to look like that when I wasn't pregnant or a mom so whatever,I just can't get worked up about it.
In our birth class they showed us the mesh panties and all the stuff they put in them after you go into labor. After class DH was like, "I am so so sorry" lol
I'm so glad you posted this - I wanted to hear what y'all thought. Did she go full term? 6 pounds is a little small, no? This brings to mind other controversies about overdoing the diet and exercise regime during pregnancy. Of course, a piece of me hates her too
I certainly wish I could look like that right after giving birth, but as I sit here eating chocolate for breakfast, I know there is no freaking way that will ever happen. Even with being sick, I have gained a ton of weight already and look huge because I am super short. Hopefully breastfeeding will help!
I'd rather eat my face off during pregnancy and look normal after giving birth to be honest. Exercising for hours everyday and not eating any junk food during pregnancy? No thanks.
Wow, well color me impressed. I just think people need to keep in mind that she is the exception, not the rule.
She is the exception. So much so that I don't think there is much to be impressed with. (Not to knock her). But that is mostly the product of very good luck. Good luck is lovely, but not something she earned.
If she hardly had any bump and a teeny tiny baby (6lbs is way small for a single baby in Northern/Northwestern Europe. My 7lbs2oz baby was right at average for 10days early, so 6lbs at full term is tiny here!) and she has these amazing genes AND works out like crazy that explains things, but posting this is insane and mean and bad for women around the world. I much prefer Princess Kate who rocked her postpartum bump. Also, why just wear underwear? She could've still made her point in clothes.
I'm currently (6weeks PP) about 8lbs below pre-pre-pregnancy weight. Besides my giant bump weight I likely lost weight during pregnancy, which I never noticed, because the huge belly gave me so much extra weight (I was back at before-weight 4 or 5 days PP). However, it doesn't look anything like before. The stretch marks (I mean tiger stripes), the flabby skin and fat and such that hasn't come back in despite the wearing of corrective undies. I will likely finally be a healthier weight once I'm done BF-ing, but I have no illusions, my belly is never going to be pretty again. And that is okay, my DD is awesome, and healthy, and perfect, and that is a zillion times more important than a pretty looking belly.
Good for her! People get offended about all kinds of crap. If other people can post selfies of their bodies, why shouldnt she? Women are too sensitive about their weight. Most women won't look like that after birth, we all know that. In fact most women will never look like that, but I guarantee that lady worked to have abs like that and it isn't just good genes (although that definitely plays a part!). So good for her and she should be proud of her hard work.
One thing I love about the HDBD threads is getting to see how differently we all carry our babies. Everybody is different and should be celebrated as the (not to sound too hokie here) beautiful vessel it is small, big, or in between. I won't look like that 4pp but good for her for being confident enough to post a picture as she probably thinks she doesn't look her best right now. It's all about perception.
I'll say what I said in another post about this: I feel nothing but sad for her. Nobody who posts a photo like that feels good about themselves. It's too bad she needs that kind of outside validation.

I was given the boy short version instead of bikini and they were SO comfortable. I even took home extras, which is apparently a normal request at my hospital.
