B's cold has progressed from snot central to cough city. I think I'm going to leave her home with H and go to the library without her. Another missed playgroup for her . She loves playgroup, poor girl. I'll make honey lemon marshmallows later in hopes that it will help her cough/soothe her throat.
Off to the pedi we go! Good news is that he hasn't puked since last night. But BSD news is that we had to throw out our living room rug because it was beyond help or carpet cleaner.

I turned in my notice yesterday at work. My boss went home at 2:30 (after having arrived at 9), then said he'd be working from home today. I sent him an email and I got an out-of-office reply. I wanted to write to him: You asked why I'm quitting? THIS IS ONE OF THE MILLION REASONS WHY, YOU FUCKING CHODE.

I finally got my u/s results yesterday. She thinks my placenta is too close to my cervix and that's what's causing the bleeding. She said she would know more after my next u/s but until then I have to "take it easy".
DH and I both have sore throats and runny noses. So far X is fine, I hope it stays that way.
I've been playing way too much candy crush the past few days.
That's gotta be rough for SAHMs. If I'm sick or just need a personal day I can call in sick and drop X off at dc. SAHMs can't call in sick. I feel for ya. Hugs.
I'm much better emotionally today. H and I had a very constructive conversation yesterday where we both shared our feelings. He apologized for being so harsh with me on Sunday and promises to help get more stuff done around the house on a regular basis instead of just when things get bad.
My boss was starting to get sick on Friday and then was sick all weekend and off yesterday. I woke up today with a sore throat and some sinus crap. Thank boss, thanks. However, if I have to stay home sick tomorrow, I will not be all that upset.
Lillian was up for a couple hours last night, would not go to sleep. She wanted to eat and run around pointing to things asking what they were. She ended up in bed with me for the second night in a row. She's a bed hog and kicked me most of the night.
I asked him to get me the buffalo chicken bites from the freezer in the basement. He came up and said there was no buffalo chicken bites, just these anytizer popcorn buffalo wings. Yes that is what I want. "Do you need these now?" Well duh, why would I asked you to get them, they are for my salad today.
Calista was eating a small portion of a peanut butter cookie. She wanted more, he came upstairs and asked me what she was eating (he was in the kitchen with me when I gave it to her). I said she was eating the cookie. "What cookie", the cookies sitting in the tin on the counter, the only cookies we have in this damn house.
Both girls woke up at 5:20, he was going to go in Lydia's room to get her back to sleep and come out and get Calista since I have to start getting ready at 5:30. Well at 5:30 he did not come out so I got Calista and brought her downstairs. Well at 5;50 he fricking still did not come downstairs so I had to wake his ass up to go downstairs with Calista so I could start getting ready. Of course I was 10 minutes late to work.
We put up our tree last night and started putting ornaments on it. A let out an excited gasp and charged the tree. We have a 6 foot tree and can only decorate the top third of it. The only things on the bottom are the soft stuffed ornaments and the toys he put on the branches. FYI, beach shovels are a lovely addition to any Christmas tree.
Two weeks ago the Lion's Club came to daycare and did a vision check. Dylan didn't pass. His eye appointment is tomorrow and I'm freaking out a little bit. I don't want him to have to deal with glasses yet. I hated glasses! They are such a PITA! I'm a little sad that if he gets glasses he will not remember ever not having glasses.
And speaking of Dylan. I really think his language was delayed when he was Lyla's age. I compare what he was doing vs. what she is doing and she is so much more advanced than he was. He seems OK now but there's still a few things that I might bring up at his 4 year appointment next month.
I probably going to be annoying with posting about paint colors and decorating opinions in the next month or so. I apologize in advance.
I really dont know how you SAHM's do it. Honestly. This isnt a working vs SAHM debate but you all deserve a huge standing O. I was at home with M from Thurs-Sun and I was ready to collapse by Sun night.

DH and I both have bad eyesight. It's pretty much a given that Andrew will need glasses. But little kids with glasses are so cute! And getting glasses early is better than waiting. I would prefer Andrew to get them before he remembers not having them. Some children get sad at the idea of glasses and are worried that they'll be made fun of. I'd rather him have the glasses before he gets to that point.
This is kind of AWish but Noah peed on his potty this morning! And I found out last night that my sil is pregnant! This is kind of the first time I'm becoming an Aunt! She has a 7 year old daughter that is my niece but my brother didn't start dating sil until niece was 3. So I have never been an aunt from the beginning!

I agree. My little sister got glasses when she was 2 almost 3 and I thought she was the most adorable thing ever with her glasses and she loved them.
They're painting in my building hallway. Right now they are at the scraping phase and it is just a giant puff of smoke out there. I thought there was a fire outside yesterday, but it wasn't smoke, it was the dust from the painters. Apparently they know it is bad enough that they closed off the doors into the hallway to spare the building, but my neighbors and I are just SOL.
I want to go out but think I'll wait till lunch break for them so I doubt expose myself and Mel to that dust. Luckily its not getting into the apt.

Does anyone have any tips for giving ibuprofen? I gave her dye free Tylenol last night and it must've been gross bc now she won't let me get near her with meds. The ped said to keep giving meds so the fever doesn't get out of control.

muppetinma @beth422 jamaicam I'm more worried about the sports and swimming and fogging up in the winter time thing. I know my kids are going to need glasses at one point because I've had glasses since I was in 3rd grade (I got braces at the same time. I was awesome!) and DH needed glasses when he was in adulthood so our kids will need them. I just was hoping they would be more like their dad and not have it happen so young. But it is a good point that he won't know different so maybe it won't be so bad.
This may be a little sexist but I think little girls look adorable in glasses!
Taken quickly back and then waited for 25 freakkng minutes for a 5 minute visit. Plus the dumb copay. I hate the doctor for these reasons!
Oh and Ari will be fine. His stomach bug is just running its course and of course j knew that already but needed validation from someone with an actual MD.

I also think little kids in glasses are adorable! Violet might need glasses, vision problems are sometimes correlated with her genetic condition. We're taking her in to get checked out soon.
My husband accepted a new job last week. Today his current company did a restructuring and fired some people. Talk about good timing. He doesn't think he would have been fired but he did save a job for someone that does what he does.
Yesterday was Adam's first day of K, he was boucing off the fucking walls all night long. No...just No. Trying to get him to sit calmly for homework (ugh...homework) was no easy task. Tonight DH shall do homework with him, we will alternate nights and share the pain.
I gave in an bought Adam one of those creepy ass elf on the shelf things, ugh. All weekend my nephew was talking about his and I could tell that Adam was sad and did not understand why he did not get an elf. So DH and I agreed to get him one but not to use it as a spy, because that crap annoys me. So now I need to throw the whole re-locate the creepy elf into my hundreds of things to do each day, lol. This morning he appeared popping out of Adam's stocking, Adam was so excited.

I lol'd at adding the creepy elf to your to do list. Good luck with that.
