I'm trying to figure out the new lighting for our hallway and closet. We need flushmounts for both. For the closets I'm going with the Restoration Hardware Heath light in ORB which is on sale right now:
We have the same light over our tub in the master bathroom but in a bigger size and a polished nickel finish.
Here's my question...Can I use the same light in the hallway as well or is that too much of the same thing? I'm thinking that it's too much. We would have five of the same light if we did that (1 in the bathroom, 2 in the closet, and 2 in the hallway). In the master suite I can see using the same light because it's all the same area but I'm unsure on using it in the hall too.
In the hallway we don't want to go with recessed lights because they put out less light and we'll have to add a third light to make up for that. I originally wanted to go with an ORB or black finish to go with our entry lighting which is black. Our entry light is centered so you see it at the end of the hall. This is our entry light:
It's a very specific style and I'm having a hard time finding something to go with it that DH & I like. The matching flushmount and semi-flushmounts of the entry light are too big and wouldn't put out enough light for our dark hall. We want something with a white shade. Our hallway isn't very long so you can see both of the hallway lights and the entry light in one view. So far these are my two inspiration pictures I like:
One is the same RH fixture in ORB and the other is a Visual Comfort fixture in antique brass. I love the brass fixture it's funky and fun for a hallway without being too big. I like the brass finish but I'm not sure it will look OK with the black entry light. It also comes in an ORB or polished nickel finish.
What do you all think? Have any other suggestions for lighting?

I really like the Heath light . That's what we're putting in our kitchen, and I didn't realize there was a sale right now so ordering today! You don't by chance know of a free shipping code, do you? lol. Their shipping costs are ridiculous.
If you can see the entry light and hall lights together, I'd do the same finish, and depending on the layout I think it would look good to have the same light.

I figured since I got that Pinterest pin from you. LOL! It's a really beautiful light you'll love it! I ordered the 17" one in polished nickel for our master bathroom a long time ago on their last semi-annual bath sale. The bottom and sides are a nice heavy glass if I remember right...I haven't taken it out of it's box for a while. No sorry I don't have a shipping code. They never give those out for anything besides the small toy/present items.
I really like these two. In fact, I may use the top one for my upstairs hall fixtures...
You know reposting all of these I'm really liking the first one as well. I was trying to avoid seeing the bulb so I could use a CFL but this gives you only a small glimpse of it so I think it might be OK.
The second one is something I've always wanted to have in a boy's bedroom/nursery for some reason. Like an outdoorsy feeling room with this light that feels like an exterior fixture. Not that I have kids or anything LOL!

I recognized the picture! I haven't seen it in person, but I was at the RH Outlet the other day and saw some of their other flushmounts in person and they were really nice. I asked if they ever get any of the Heath flushmount in, and the lighting guy said he only sees them once in awhile. I was holding out to see if the outlet gets one in, but I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and buy with the sale today, shipping and all.
Dang! I should have looked closer at the size of this one. I had saved links to these a while ago but must have not realized how wide this one was. We're looking for something 13" or less in width and this is almost 18". Our hallway is skinny (the main bath door at the end of the hall is skinnier than your standard door) so we don't want a wide light to make it feel even smaller.

I wish we had a RH outlet or even a RH store nearby! The nearest outlet is 2.5 hours away and the nearest store is 2 hours in different directions. I stalked the outlet for the longest time trying to get a framed pivot mirror for the main bathroom. I wanted something chrome and needed a particular size but other than that would be happy with any of their styles. I called them every week the day they got their shipments in with no luck. They said they usually got them in and that chrome would be the most common finish but they never had anything over the 2 month time span I was calling in. I eventually decided to just order the PB knockoff one when it went on final clearance.

Oh that's a bummer. I'm pretty sure I saw some of the pivot mirrors at the store last time (no idea which ones, but they had at least one or two), and I've seen them on my local Craigslist a number of times. I think because people buy them final sale from the outlet, then don't like it, and can't return it, lol. I've also seen their beveled beaded mirrors there, which I absolutely love, but all have been too damaged for my liking.

Oh something like that would never be for sale on our local CL! We have one of the worst CLs when it comes to furniture or decor. It sucks. I don't know anyone besides a few friends IRL nesites that has ever even heard of RH let alone own anything from them.
I just bought that Overstock light a few weeks ago! It's waiting to be installed in my mud room =)
Thanks for the links downtoearth! I am drawn to schoolhouse fixtures (we just installed schoolhouse sconces in the main bath) but I was thinking of using them in some other locations as well so that's another "how many of the same basic fixture can I have before it's too much" question.
Kaylie you'll have to tell me if you like that fixture! I was seriously considering using that in the closet but it was too deep to pull out things on the top shelf when I measured it out. I want to use a fixture like this in the laundry room or possibly the living room.
