This can probably go in the "super specific Christmas gifts" list that dexteroni is compiling
My parents are putting in a pool this spring "for DD" (who is an infant) so we'd like to get them some pool related things as part of their Christmas gift. I am going to order some beach towels but would like some other suggestions from pool people on other things that will be useful /fun. Any recommendations on float-type things? Any fun suggestions for the pool?
I got a King Kai pool float last year and it is amazing. It is like a giant bean bag float. It is perfect for kids because you can adjust the stuffing to have the kiddos in or out of the water. So comfortable!
DH has a remote control boat that is a big hit with the guys and kiddos. It was $50 from Toyrus.
Kids might like diving sticks/rings, noodles, inflatable beach ball, floating net or basketball hoop, goggles, masks, any kind of raft (ones with drink holders are good), we used big round snow tubes in my parents pool.
Not sure if your into buying them bigger items like neat chairs, side tables, or even maybe a pool serving set (plastic cups, serving dishes for snacks by the pool)
As a new pool owner, I wouldn't want floats or anything like that, I'm picky about what I want to use. Honestly we don't need much for the pool. If they have a lot of trees, there are attachments you can get to put on the net that help collect stuff from the bottom of the pool. Maybe a GC to the pool supply place since we need to buy checmicals every month. If they have kids, maybe a noodle.
ETA, just re-read and see it's your parents and they are doing it for your daughter. I think that's sweet. I would still stay away from floats or anything big and definitely think the GC to the pool store would be great.
