As a counterpoint to the controversial selfie, I recommend reading this blog post. It's by a pro runner that I follow who is about 5 months postpartum. She talks about how she was photographed modeling for a fashion show recently and her body looked rockin' in the published photo. But as a reminder that we can't take posed media photos too seriously, she posts some photos of how her body REALLY looks on a daily basis when she's not spray-tanned and flexing her abs. I'm bookmarking her post for my own postpartum days, so I feel better about myself.
Great post. But I'm a little confused. Is she saying the runway pic was airbrushed? Or if she flexes/improves her posture her abs look good? Because ain't no way mere flexing/improving posture would make my abs look like that, even pre-pregnancy.
I don't think she says anything about airbrushing - just that it was the one good photo out of many bad ones, and that she was spray-tanned. Keep in mind, she IS a pro athlete, so she had toned abs before pregnancy and she is working out a lot afterward, so she probably can get more mileage out of flexing than most of us could.
I also really like this post and article--I think she is saying that her body itself was airbrushed to make her and and all her muscles look more defined. And even then with sucking in and great posture, she still only had a couple pictures that didn't show all the effort it was taking to make it happen!
