We need to start searching for a maternity photographer. I'm not too sure on what the typical session costs. How much did you pay if you had professional pics taken, and what did it cover?
My sis is a pro photographer and will be doing mine for free, i hope. Not sure what she normally charges for maternity shoots, but her family and senior packages are about $350-$400 for 2 hours.
My friend did them for free. She's not professional but has a nice camera and likes to do it as a hobby. A CWer gave me a gc to the picture people to get some newborn photos when he is born.
I got an awesome deal. $175 for one hour session and 20 processed digital images. Just picked out our 20 last night, so I'll show off a few when I get them!
We didn't do official maternity pics, but my running group coach (a photog) was fundraising for a race and offered half hour sessions (and all the images) for a $50 donation. I jumped on that and she came to our house Sunday and took pictures of us and the animals in our construction mess. I am 27 weeks so have a decent bump. We will use the pictures on our Christmas cards.

We got a groupon for $50 which included a 1 hour shoot and 25 images on a flash drive. His normal rate was $400 which seems pretty consistent with what was available in the area. We are getting them back tonight so I'm pumped to see how it worked out.

Not maternity pics, but for newborn pics we paid $275 and got the digital images. I think our photographers rate for maternity pics was about the same. And that was one of the cheapest rates I found.
