Hey guys, I could stand to lose about 40 pounds and have all the tools I need to obtain my goals of losing weight and feeling better about myself. I have several Beachbody dvd's (Turbo Fire, Focus T25, and Chalean Extreme) as well as a nice exercise facility in my building. There are access to trails outside my apartment and I have very supportive friends and family. I follow a lot of inspirational people online and spend hours looking at amazing before and after stories and yet...I can't find the motivation to do anything about it.
I'm not particularly competitive so "challenges" don't help me much. I feel like I need a group of like four or five people that I can email on a regular basis to check in with, share my struggles, and get support from. Where do I find said people? Are there weight loss buddy matchmaking sites? lol
Any guidance would be appreciated. Also, if my story sounds familiar and you've been able to overcome what I've described I would love to hear how you did it.
I don't know of a support group like you are looking for, but this board is a great place to start. There is a daily eating/exercise thread that might be a good place to start
My tip is that exercising shouldn't be a chore, find something that you enjoy doing. Maybe your supportive friends and family will go for a walk with you 3x a week or try new sports like ice skating or a basketball league. I also know that I suck at working out at home, it just never happens. Now that it is cold I make myself get my run in at lunch. I hate running on the dreadmill, so lunch is the only time that works for me.
Hang out here - this board is full of women who are inspiring in their individual ways. I agree with gt7301b, exercise should be something that you look forward to, not something that you need motivation to do. Find an activity that doesn't even feel like exercise. Horse riding for example. Get a bike, go for a spin or use it to replace short journeys that you would have done in a car. Don't let cold weather put you off, either. If it's cold, just dress warmer. Get that blood pumping and you will be warm in no time. I went running in Ireland recently and was in a little tank top, early in the morning. People were starting the day, coming out of their houses in big coats and gloves. I kept thinking how warm it was.
Most of all, eat well. Don't eat convenience processed foods. Their pretty bright packages are designed to be appealing but they are only stopping you achieving your goals. Healthy eating doesn't have to be all lentil and low fat. Fat is actually good for you - if it's the right type.

Are you on My Fitness Pal? A bunch of women on this board are "friends" on there. It's a nice tool and also a good way to get support and accountability for your diet and exercise.
Harsh words ahead: Stop spending hours online looking at before and afters and use those hours to exercise and get out there!!
You have access to a lot of great things! Set a goal, make it attainable. Write a plan that includes things you enjoy, follow the plan, achieve goal. Rinse and repeat!
Do you have a friend or is there a running group you can become a part of? I find if I am scheduled to meet someone to run (or workout) I am very unlikely to cancel on them.
Also, I don't think it's healthy to look at stories/photos for hours. I think if you do that them you start expecting quick results and that's not usually the case.
What is your current workout schedule like? Start small and set realistic goals (I.e I will work put 2x week for 30 minutes) and then work your way up.
