I finally had my shower, and got all the big stuff on my registry Yay!
But I am missing some smaller things that I want to use my registry completion discount for. I plan on breastfeeding, but with returning back to work in 12 weeks, I want to also pump and bottle feed. I had registered for some of the small 4oz bottles, as well as some of the larger bottles. Did any of you moms out there use the 4oz bottles often?? Or do you think it’s a waste of money and I should just get a bunch of the larger ones and fill as needed?? Also, any brand recommendations? I was thinking of going with Avent and some Madela.
Should I also plan to purchase an extra set of pump parts? Or just wait and see?
Your breastmilk changes as your child ages, so you probably won't need more than 4 oz bottles should you exclusively breastfeed (either at the tap or thru a bottle). See this article on Kellymom. It has a calculator for you as well.
I only ever had the 4 oz bottles but I EBFed and my son hardly ever used them. I think it's a good idea.to have some of the larger ones on hand but the small ones will be what you'll use in the beginning.
I got thedr Brown's starter kit, which was 2 4oz and 1 6oz bottle with stage 1,2 and 3 nipples. With pumped BM I wouldn't think 4oz bottles are a waste.

For bottles and pacifiers, it's luck of the draw which brand your baby will accept. I'd keep them in the package in case you need to return them. DS only took dr browns, so I had a ton of Playtex washed up that never got used.
