For my nt scan and a lady who comes here once a week says she usually has to wait an hour and a half past her appt time to go back. KILL ME NOW. I will not make another appt here if the wait is that long each time. I understand there are waits at doctors offices, but is an hour and a half normal? I'm used to 30 minutes wait or so.
both OB offices I have used, I would say this isn't out of the ordinary - if it's a good day, running smoothly I wait 20 - 30 min - but there often are emergencies/births going on so it seems maybe every other time I'm at the office for 1 1/2 - 2 hours

We waited 2hrs at our very first appt; since then the main OB has hired 2 new Physicians, so it has gotten better. Today we waited 45 min before we saw the Dr.

I will definitely request a different office for the rest of my ultrasounds. I went to another one for my first U/s 5 weeks ago and only waited 25 minutes. I'm here simply bc my ob recommended this place for nt scans but I'm sure there are other offices that can do my future ultrasounds

I usually wait 30 mins. Last time I had to wait 2 hours because he was doing a c- section. The staff is very nice and kept us informed and said we could leave and come back and would call us if we wanted them too.

My NT screening was done by a perinatologist, and he his office wasn't backed up, but I can see how a specialist might get bogged down. Hopefully your test will come back clear and you won't have to go back.
Anytime I had an ultrasound + appointment, I was there well over 2, going on 3 hours. My office is a disaster if you have an afternoon appointment and a 2-hour wait is not unheard of. I always go in the morning (but for the few times they have had to reschedule me for the afternoon), and if I'm in and out in an hour, I consider it a wild success (and that includes approximately a minute and a half with my actual OB).

I scheduled an afternoon appt for next week & I'm worried it's going to turn into an all afternoon event. Our first appt we waited 2hrs; we had an afternoon appt. Since then i've scheduled appointments on Tuesday/Thursday and as early as possible - I have had to wait some, but not 2 hours.
When I was being monitored today I saw the OB that is at the other office for my practice; he was dictating an operative report so I was thinking that his office must be super behind, or he didn't have any patients scheduled for the morning.
I'm in Northern VA, too, and I waited at least an hour for my NT scan at the MFM. The other appointments I had there weren't quite so bad, and I actually really liked the doctor I saw. Where did you go? I went to MFM Associates of Northern VA.

My OB's practice has 6 doctors and, if my OB was called away for a c-section, I would see one of the others. So the wait was never too bad. It worked out because both of the on- call docs I saw for my delivery (it went through the night) were people I had seen recently. When I had to go to maternal fetal medicine for my NT and NSTs, however, the wait was usually 30-45 minutes. Not awesome.

It took over an hour until I was called back then another 45 minutes til I saw the doctor so I was there over 2 1/2 hours.
I made my 20 week appt there for the first slot in the morning so that might help cut the wait time down. I'm going to ask my ob at my next appt in a few weeks if they can recommend somewhere else to go.

This has been my experience this pregnancy, with my waits typically running about 15 min.
Same me dr, same office, 4 years ago- waited an hour easily each time. It was such a pain. I don't know if it's because I was doing 3:30 appts and now I'm doing mid-day or if they're just running more smoothly. You might ask if there are better times to be on schedule.

My old ob/gyn would have about an hour long wait. More if it was am ultrasound appointment. I've been to a couple others in the city and it was pretty standard. I would make appointments as.early as possible and the wait wouldn't be as bad.
Out here in the middle of nowhere, I never have to wait. It's amazing.
That is not okay. My OB office with my first was awful and they never ran on time for anything whether it be a regular appointment or an u/s. My new OB is great though. My recommendation is to make your future u/s's for first thing in the morning to help with the wait. At least that was the best time to schedule here.
At my OB's office, I wait at most 30 min for appointments where they merely weigh me, check my BP, and the doctor makes some recommendations or orders a test/screen. She is there 2.5 days/week.
At my MFM's office, I can wait upto 2+ hours for appointments that involve scans which seem to be all of them. The staff know she runs late. The MFM does all the scans herself, no techs. She is only there 2 days/wk and doesn't seem to be hurting for patients at all.
I am ok with waiting 2 hours if I know about it in advance. It's when I see them on a Tuesday and they are like "come back on Friday" that I panic, which is exactly what happened today.
That is crazy! I had to wait 30 min once because the doctor was delivering a baby and they promised it wouldn't be that long again. I don't think I could handle waiting that over an hour each time!
My regular OB's office runs like a well-oiled machine. I got there a few minutes early for my u/s so they went ahead and took me back.
MFM though, it depends on the day. If I have an advance appointment they usually get me back there relatively quickly. An emergency appointment - all bets are off.
At my regular OB's office, I typically wait about 10-15 minutes. I find that I am seen much quicker when I make my appointments for first thing in the morning.
At the office where I had my NT and anatomy scans, I typically waited about 20-25 minutes. I would definitely request another u/s office if I had to wait an hour and a half past my appointment time. Who has time for that?
