Eww to the bathroom. However I did pump in a bathroom once when I was at a work function at a university, they had no pumping/breastfeeding room in the entire university! It was really gross and I would never do that everyday.
I pumped in the bathroom when I went on my conference last year. I had contacted the airport customer service and this was their suggestion. However, I dumped everything I pumped and sanitized every inch of that thing before I gave Caleb any.
Ew, I would never want to pump in a bathroom! Yuck! Unless it had a nice sitting area away from the toilets or something. Although, I probably wouldn't request pumping more than every 3 hours if it were me.
I've pumped in many an airport bathroom. It isn't ideal and certainly not an acceptable long term solution but....I wasn't like wiping my pump with poop or anything.

I think I was the first to pump at my work too. Mostly because mat leave here is 1 year, but I went back after 6 months and pumped until 16-17 months. I had to pump in a very busy shower room, it sucked. There was just 1 shower stall and a space to change. It was for both men and women. When it was taken I pumped in the bathroom and it sucked. There was no counter space to put anything. I hated it.

I had to pump in the bathroom when I went back work, after the first week I told them I am not doing it anymore and we worked something else out. Good luck!
I had to fight pretty hardcore for a space too. And then they moved me to a closet. And then I fought again. And then I had to bust out the law when they tried to stop my pumping at 9 or 10 months. I wish it wasn't so hard. But I like to think that we are paving the way to make it easier on others.
I pumped in a bathroom when I did my dinner theater just because i didn't feel comfortable asking for anything else after being fired from a prior job when i told them I was pregnant. I was only there once per week, so it wasn't a big deal. i would not have done it every day though. I had to simmer all my milk before freezing anyway because I had too much lipase. Good for you for fighting for a decent space.
Glad it made you think of this early! You should present them with the law and let them know they should have ample time to accommodate you. Pave the way @pcloadletter! Be the pioneer!
I'm not going to throw the law out until I am denied a good space. Then I will go to the regional HR who is a huge PITA, but gets shit done.
I wasn't thinking to be annoying, more informative since you're the first one apparently. If they know what they are obligated to do it makes their job easier IMO. It's all in the presentation.
I pump in a bathroom everyday. Granted its my own private bathroom and it has a shower and costs more than my home but it is still a bathroom. I can't imagine now having a mirror and a sink.
