Matilda was asleep at daycare pick up, very strange. They say she was very listless for the afternoon but she had no fever.
at home she was tugging at her left ear and saying boo-boo/crying/listless. But no fever.
after some ibuprofen she is feeling good and demanding food again and such.
could she have an ear infection with no temperature? I'm not sure what to do regarding daycare tomorrow. I am very low on days and since she didn't go home with fever they will take her. Ugh. I suppose I will just see how she is in the morning.
I was a weird child who had all kinds of problems with no symptoms. My brother and I would be bouncing off the walls in the Pedi's waiting room and they would be wondering why in the world my mom brought us in. Until they found raging strep throat or a double ear infection, or something. So...there's really no way to tell. I would probably send her in the morning unless she's miserable then, though.
The one time Clara had an ear infection the only reason we even discovered it was when it spread to her eye. I assumed pink eye and took her to the pedi, who diagnosed a nasty ear infection. She never had a fever. I hope M feels better!!

Henry has a knack for having ear infections with zero symptoms, or weird unrelated ones. I think only one of the ten ear infections he had came with a fever.
But if I were you, I would send her to school tomorrow if she seems to be herself.
Both times Olivia has had ear infections she has not had a temp. Just recently I brought her in due to a rash to find she had a double ear infection. No other symptoms but she did touch her ears a few times and say bump your head which she says when hurt.

Yes, possible.
My friends baby had a double ear infection that blew the ear drum and bled (that's the only way she knew something was wrong) and the baby was all smiles and happy.
The doctors said they have never in their careers seen a worse ear infection.

Christian went to the doctor last Wednesday and it ended up being an ear infection. No fever or fussiness. The only sign was occasionally pulling on his ear. He's been on antibiotics for almost a week and ear drops the first few days.

Thanks guys! She is in wonderful spirits now, refusing to go to bed haha. I assume that in approx 3 hours when the magical ibuprofen wears off she will wake up crying
It's just amazing what a difference a dose of medicine makes!
I'm so glad I'm not "against doctor medicine" and am blissfully unaware of the government conspiracy to poison our children and us! That would really suck because then she'd just be chewing on a peppermint leaf or similar and still crying.

Absolutely. Ella had ear infections all the time without symptoms, so I'm super paranoid about them now. She had tubes 2 years ago, one recently fell out, and now she has her second infection within one month (we just went to the doctor today actually). It took her a while to fall asleep last night, but other than her saying her ear hurt a little, she's acting perfectly fine. Kate on the other hand, gets cold-like symptoms. She also has an ear infection at the moment. Fun times.
