And this one is hitting hard. DH never gets sick, so these are always super fun.
DH (at 10:30 last night, when he got home from work) - Do we have any cold medication? Me - I don't think so. Did you check the medicine cabinet? DH - No. Is that where it would be? Me - **Eye roll so big, I gave myself a headache** -He takes a quick shower, during which I fall asleep- DH - Did you check to see if we had cold medicine? Me - No. I went to sleep. You're perfectly capable of checking yourself. -DH crawls into bed- Me - So you're not going to look? DH - You said you didn't think we had any. Why don't we have any anyway? Me - I just buy it when we need it. We never use it up before it expires, so it seems like a waste to stock up. -He mumbles something assholey under his breath and goes to bed.-
This morning - DH - I'm going to go in to work early so I can stop and get some cold medicine. Me - Awesome. Don't forget to get extra so you can stock up.
Ten minutes later, DH calls me DH - Hey, can you grab some cold medicine and bring it to work for me? Me - I thought you were going to get some this morning? DH - I tried, but the gas station didn't have any. I didn't want to be late. Me - Why didn't you go to CVS? (Which is literally next door) DH - They don't have taquitos.
So apparently, this cold is SO bad that he must wake me up at night to discuss it, and SO bad that I now have to drag Andrew out in the rain to procure the necessary medication to bring to him at the theater, but not so bad that he needs to skip out on gas station roller food. Pray for him. I may have to kill him.
Um. No. I would NOT be bringing him cold medicine.
See, here's where the problem lies. Under normal circumstances, no. I wouldn't. BUT, he's working the Nutcracker with the Atlanta Ballet. The hours are at least 8am-10pm every day this week. He's working in close quarters with everybody, and germs run rampant. I will get him drugs, but for the sake of everybody else he's working with. I don't want him sneezing and coughing all over everybody.
The Nutcracker is cursed. Nobody ever really wants to work it. Nobody really wants to see it. It's just a way to get as many dancers on stage as possible, to make all of the ballet moms happy.
jsillyfun, he's playing the role of master electrician on this one. Although we both got our starts in theater, we don't get to work on the stage much anymore. But the head elec of the ballet is new and hasn't done this show before. DH has done it for the past eight years, so he's helping the guy out.

Oh, cool. What did you do in the theater? DH's background is as a freelance set designer, mine is acting. He is going to be designing a show in San diego soon, so we are hopefully going to bring may and hang out there with our old friends while he is in tech.

I went to school for costume design. DH went for a general theater degree with a focus in lighting. I switched to lighting after we started dating because our schedules were so off and we would go months without seeing each other.

cool! I love costume designers Well, all designers, really. They just seem to always be awesome people! And most of our friends are in the theater because we met them going to school.
Of course I did! I even had to buy tampons because I didn't have a box.
I can't tell you how much this cheered me up. What was his reaction?
I pulled up and stayed in the car. I rolled down the window and threw the box at him. He freaked out and didn't catch it. Such a boy move. Everybody laughed at him for being a girl, both for the tampons and the inability to catch the box. He didn't figure it out and I had to tell him that his cold drugs were in it.
