I found a great way to use up day old croissants

So if you're like my family, we love croissants, and will sometimes get them in the big packs from Costco.  Well if they are starting to get a little on the old side, make this...

SAVORY BREAD PUDDING
3 croissants, cut into cubes
3 cups heavy cream
4 eggs
1 tbsp salt
1/2 cup shredded cheese

And from there, you can add whatever you want!  I had leftover chicken breast that was cooked with tomatoes and bacon, so i added that.  I also added garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, and ancho chile powder to the bread pudding base.  

Mix the cream and eggs, add salt and whatever spices you want.  
Grease an 8x8 casserole pan, throw bread and whatever else you want into the pan and toss to distribute evenly.  
Pour bread pudding base over the bread.
Bake at 350F for 45-60 minutes, or until the middle of the bread pudding isn't liquid anymore.

It was so good, and took no time to assemble.  Andrew ate it up and I'm having some for lunch right now.

Yum! I wonder if whole milk would work too? I do love heavy cream though.

I'm sure it would, but I wouldn't go any less than that.  You might have to up the egg and cook it a bit longer.

Half and half would definitely work too!
