So I had a tiny bit of faint spotting on the TP. Dark red to brownish and watered down looking. Ugh. Does this warrant a call to the after hours line? I feel kind of stupid thinking it would because it's such a tiny amount, but I have no idea how stuff like this works in the later stages of pregnancy. (I'm almost 29 weeks.)
Baby is moving/kicking normally (even as I type this). We found the HB no problem with my doppler. No other fluid or discharge that I can see/feel, no cramping. I have had a few BH today, but that's normal for me, I've been having them on and off for a couple of weeks now.
If it weren't after hours, I'd call, but since it's evening I don't know if they might have me go to the ER or something, which I would really rather not do.
So what is there when you wipe now? Are you having any contractions or pain? We tell people to worry about red and/or large amounts of blood. If you only saw it once when wiping and nothing since I would be inclined to say it probably can wait until tomorrow.
I am not concerned about a placental abruption or previa from what you have described so far.
No, nothing when I wipe now, it was just the one time.
We are leaving tomorrow, flying up to Boston to see friends who are throwing me a small baby shower...so unless I canceled my trip, I'm not even sure I could go in tomorrow either.
Don't feel bad about going to L&D triage. That is what they are there for. I went at 32 weeks with ds, because I was having very regular (like every 5 minutes) what I thought were Braxton Hicks. Turned out I was in labor and lucky for me I went in before I started dilating and they were able to stop the labor with drugs and bedrest and keep him in longer. Better safe than sorry. I am sure the L&D triage nurses have seen it all.
I also realized their office is closed on Fridays anyway, so I'd be calling the after hours service whether I called tonight or called tomorrow morning. Waiting for a call back. Thanks ladies!
Talked to the on-call midwife and she doesn't think I need to go in and get checked. Which is honestly a relief because it is storming crazy here. I am instructed to have a relaxing evening and call back tomorrow I get any more blood or start having cramps or contractions.
I don't want to say spotting is normal, but we see a lot of it. It really isn't a big deal towards the end. It is more indicative of something going wrong in the beginning of a pregnancy, which is also not always the case. The cervix and vagina are so vascular that it is easy for irritated skin or a million other things to cause spotting. We have a lot of people that come up freaking out, and of course it is better to get reassurance than sitting around scared or freaked out. But the kind of bleeding that indicates something is wrong in third tri is not something anyone could ignore or minimize.
Well, I had more spotting today (pink this time and a bit heavier) so I'm at L&D waiting for a room. I hope everything is okay, and my H is looking in to later flights so maybe we can still make it out tonight and to my shower tomorrow. Not holding my breath though.

((Hugs)) I hope everything turns out alright, and that YH can figure out flights for you.
Going on 90 min of waiting for a room. And the vending machine is out of bottled water and I can't find a drinking fountain. I'm thirsty. And I'm cranky because I haven't had lunch.

Oh man...apparently I have a yeast infection. I have never had one before. Gross, LOL. But I'm happy that seems to be the likely culprit.
We are outta here in a few minutes and will hopefully make a 6PM flight. Doctor said to make sure I don't overdo it on sugar at the shower since it can feed the yeast.
Yes! Phew. Yay for a yeast infection! Hee hee. My MW recommended a probiotic like Florastor to prevent those bad boys. I've never taken that before but just started to be io the safe side. I'm so relieved for you!
