Did anyone have high blood pressure before they got pregnant? What (if anything) has been different about your care?
I have had high-ish BP for a few years now (usually 130s over 80s) and at my appointment yesterday they said they want to treat me as though I officially have hypertension. She said she wanted some blood work (to check my protein levels and... something else... as a baseline) and that I will likely have extra monitoring including an additional late growth ultrasound in 3rd tri.
Just curious if this is common or if I should be freaking out, haha. Have so far avoided Dr. Google.
I have HBP and was on medication before getting pregnant. When I got pregnant I changed BP meds and my BP has never been as good as it is now. I do get some extra ultrasounds and went in for NST earlier than most people. I was actually worried once b/c it was so low or low for me.

I had borderline high blood pressure pre-pregnancy, but nothing that my doctor has ever been worried about. Pregnancy typically lowers your blood pressure (according to my doctors and my own experience), and there has been no mention by my doc of doing anything different due to my pre-pregnancy bp.
