What are you getting for your day care person and how much are you spending?
She talks about a certain movie theater and a restaurant she likes so I was planning on getting her and her family a gift card for those but wasn't sure on the amount.

When my DS was still in daycare, I gave her a $100 gift card to a family restaurant. The next year, I got her family a membership to the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. She was SHOCKED both times. I got the impression that people didn't get her gifts.
We're doing a restaurant GC to her fave place, a bottle of her fave kind of wine and a box of chocolates. Her daughter is a friend of mine, so I asked her for suggestions and she told me her parents love to go out to eat at a particular place and what kind of wine she likes.
$50.00. I can't afford a full week's pay and no one does that here TBH. I think my DC lady just gets a lot of tree ornaments and thank you cards actually. I'm also probably going to get her $50.00 worth of stuff she can use in her daycare as well. There are certain toys she's been talking about and she's really into art supplies, play doh etc. so I think I'm going to replenish the stash.

I really don't think anyone at our daycare does a weeks pay or anything like that. Last year, I put together little boxes with candies and $20 cash. (there are two ladies). If I had my shit together enough to bake, I would have done that instead of candies, but whatever. DH doesn't think we need to do anything. I did feel awkward about the cash, but if it was me, I'd honestly prefer that to a small gc.
