This is the wish list for the first (hopefully annual) CEP charitable secret santa.
It is for Kids Hurt Too, an org in Hawaii for children who have lost a parent through things like death, divorce, incarceration, etc. I volunteer with them, and I'm really impressed by what they do. They're related to the Dougy Center if you're looking for something similar to you locally.
You can PM me for my email address if you'd prefer to give to my paypal to pool for other gifts.
Background, for lurkers or for cross posting, is that in lieu of doing a board secret santa this year we decided to choose a charity instead. We had a poll, the first choice winner fell through, this was the 2nd.
I am on Hawaii time (5 hours earlier than EST), and I work a weird afternoon shift, so please forgive late responses.
If anyone wants to send an item they already have or purchased locally, I'll PM you my address and take the item off the amazon wish list. Also, the Amazon list is a suggestion. I have no kids, so I interpreted the mostly vague excel list and found what I thought were matching items. If there's something you think is a better fit or would prefer to purchase, please let me know, and I'll update.
For those of us who just wanted to contribute funds, do you have info you can PM or pass along?
I could set up a paypal fund or similar. I wouldn't be opposed to doing that and then using it to pool money for gifts that people can't easily send, like a bike. I'm more than happy to spend the time to buy stuff locally.
I'd suggest an amazon wish list for the things you can find there, with your shipping address. I think that can stay private, by the way. Then a Paypal for those who want to pitch in on the bigger things.
I'd also suggest posting the list in its entirety, here, with notes on what you're collecting for via PayPal versus what's on the amazon list. Would that work for you?
Attachment DeletedOK, the wishlist is taking me awhile since it's arranged by each child, their age, and their top choices.
I'm going to work on the amazon in the meantime, but I didn't want to delay the spreadsheet anymore.
So if anyone wants to post or PM with what they plan to buy, I'll make sure it's checked off. People can also PM me for my paypal, and I'll use funds from that for either gift cards or for pooling together for a larger item. If you want to direct toward a larger item, I'll try to do that, too.

Im not that active on this board but I am going up to Disneyland this weekend and I can see what Lilo and Stitch stuff they have. I know that I should be able to find a Stitch doll and maybe a keychain. And I can definitely get the Minnie Mouse doll.

Thank you! I do have all those items on the amazon list so you can use that if you prefer, with the free shipping.
you're in Hawaii, right? I have an extra leappad 2, that I was planning to use for my local angel tree b/c I already got a tag, but there were a couple left, and I got a great deal on BF for the leappad. But then someone else snatched up the tags. I'd ship it to you but that might negate the fact that I got the thing for half what it's selling on amazon for right now. What's your experience with shipping via the USPS or elsewhere?

I purchased the 19 year old's wishlist items (headphones, backpack and stitch). Question - do you think I should have also gotten lilo? I might have confused myself.

I don't know if this will help but amazon told me expedited shipping would be over $20. I'm going to assume UPS, FEDX and USPS would be similar.
I had to look up a kendama and I'm cracking up that it's a ball in a cup.
Oh, no, I didn't catch the ball in the cup! Oh, wait a minute, it's okay because the ball is on a string and attached to the cup.
Apparently there are cool tricks that people do with their ball in a cup though. I guess it's like the hawaiian version of everybody in my grade school wanting devil sticks?
sushi - I'm going to PM you for paypal info in a second.

This has been reposted to geeks and gamers, the book board and west coast florida.
There are lots of other boards. I will post to more but I wanted to give others who post on any of the other boards with any kind of frequency a chance to do it.
The kendama is every where here. It's kind of hilarious.
For shipping and arrival dates I'm off on the 23rd so that can be delivery day. If someone has confirmed they shipped something that will be here later that's ok. We're on island time
Does prime work to Hawaii, if i ordered something from amazon? Also, does something *need* to arrive on the 23rd, or can it be delivered earlier than that ... ? Not sure if a signature is necessary for delivery where you live.
