Just wanted to stop in and update that BabyHai was born on 12/5 at 7:44pm, weighing 7lbs 10oz and measuring 19.5 inches long, with a full head of dark hair and the chubbiest, softest cheeks. My induction went more smoothly than I could have ever hoped (8 1/2 hours of labor, 59 minutes of pushing, 2nd degree tear), and she is so tiny and perfect and beautiful, H and I are just in awe. Things are going pretty well, but her bilirubin levels were on the higher side at her 24 hour exam last night, so she had to be on the Bilibed all night. They will re-test her this morning and we're hoping they will have gone down so we can all go home today. H has been amazing so far, which doesn't really surprise me, but the love that's just radiating off of him right now for her and for me is like overload for my hormones, haha.
Now, pictures. Hope everyone is doing well, and I'm looking forward to seeing the next round of December babies!
Thank you all again! Her cheeks are TOTALLY irresistible, we keep kissing them and everyone who sees her comments on them, lol.
Thanks also for the compliments on her name, and the well wishes about her bilirubin levels; she's being re-tested at 3, and we're really hoping the increased feedings have made a difference or we're being discharged and she has to stay overnight.
ETA: Her levels came back still elevated but thankfully not rising, so we got to take her home! It's been a rough first night, but not because of her - we can't seem to figure out the whole sleeping thing (she's eating every two hours and falls asleep between, but as soon as we put her down she gets restless and acts like she's hungry, so we pick her up and she settles, and repeat. We'll figure it out before H goes back to work in two weeks... I hope, lol.)
