I'm heading out for an 8-10 mile. I'm kind of a hit mess of red and hot pink, but oh well! Temp is 24 degrees and no wind. How was your cold weather runs this weekend?
No pictures, but it was 13 degrees when I went out 8 miles this morning. Afterwards, it took 15 minutes before I could feel my hands again. I had on two pairs of gloves.
My half was cancelled but I still set out for a 3 mile loop in my hood. I did wool socks, two pairs of pants (capris and a pair of bootcut athletic pants), a compression shirt, a half zip and my singlet on top, two pairs of gloves and a ear warmer. It felt like 18 when I set out but I got a little warm and took off a pair of gloves!
Some people are actually downtown running the full & 1/2 routes! I can't imagine doing that without the aide stations and in this cold with icy spots on the roads.
It was 24 degrees out with 6 inches of snow on the ground and a layer of ice underneath. I ran 5 and ran it slow because it was so slippery out. I mostly ran on the road. I wore my LLL fluff jacket, long sleeved tech shirt, LLL tights, hat, new NF running gloves/mittens, and thick socks.
I usually don't mind the temps, I prefer winter running but ice is another story:( Not sure what I'm going to do tomorrow b/c I have a massage at 11 and want to get a run in beforehand.

Not exactly cold temperature or icy related, but I'm in Beijing and this is the view from my window. That is not Fog with an F but SMog with an S which apparently is the worst in winter. Our hotel is next to the Olympic park (birds nest!) so I optimistically hoped for a jog around the grounds. Boss advised that I hit the treadmill... Even inside I've been hacking up a lung.
It was 25 degrees yesterday for my run. It wasn't bad until I got down by the water and it was soooo windy and cold. 25 is very unusual for Seattle! At least it was dry!

I went out yesterday. There was a wind chill of 30, so it could've been a lot worse. My hands are always cold though! I want some of those little hand warmers.
24 today for my five miles. No wind, so i was fine w no hat (bondiband for my ears), took my gloves off at 2 miles. Long sleeve shirt w a c9 pullover and c9 lined running tights. Guess i was a target commercial today!
Sun was out and no snow on trail. It was a great running day.

It was in the low 30s for my half today, which is pretty damn cold for this Texas girl. I ended up wearing long sleeves and crops with a bondiband and gloves that I shed about mile 3. I felt great running, not so great waiting around for an hour afterward for everyone else to finish and be ready to go. It was way too cold to stand around while sweaty and damp.
I fell on my run today It had JUST started snowing and I did not think there was any ice, because it didn't feel so cold. My whole right side is banged up. But I finished! I only had five planned (fell at .5) so it wasn't too bad.
Oh, I wore my wunderunders (I don;t know what kind they are but they are a soft, pajama type feel of grey and black and are SUPER warm), a thermal tank, and a thick, wicking turtleneck, dollar store gloves and a wool cap. It was 24 degrees and snowing. I was 30 and flurrying when I started.

How do you like this jacket for running?
Love it! I bought it last year - I got it in bright yellow. It has to be in the 20's for me to wear it and not sweat in it.
I am jealous of your above zero temps! I debated going out yesterday, since it got above 5, but it was really slippery.
Ice is the worst!
Its getting warm enough during the day (all of 20 degrees) for some snow to melt in the parking lots - then freeze to glare ice. I almost ate it this AM on my way to the car. Stay inside!
