New runner. I have been running ~ 3x/week since April or May. I was really sore after my last 5k in early Nov so I took a week off....and now I've only run 3 times in the past 4.5 weeks. HELP ME.
My reasons for running are: health (I have osteopenia and a little osteoporosis -- thank you, anorexia) and to set goals and reach them. My goal for this year was my first 5K and I did two! I"m proud. But now, ugh, I'm lazy again.
Any mental tricks of the trade to get my groove back on?
Sign up for another race. Having a training plan keeps me accountable. Also, I like to reward myself for meeting goals (ex: ran 100 miles, buy something at LLL).
Ditto others - buy a new workout item as motivation and sign up for a race (or several races). I have been running for three years and I try to always have a race scheduled as something to look forward to. Good luck!
