I was sick last week (stomach bug) with all the vomiting and "other" stuff, i def. did soemthing to my rib. My left side HURTS SO BAD, its getting better, ill prob head to the dr this week if it isnt better, but just curious as to what a fracture would feel like?
There isn't anything they can do for a fractured rib besides letting it heal on it's own. I would just take it easy and try not to move too much. Hope you feel better soon!

A true rib fracture is excruciatingly painful. If it was a true fracture, you probably would have known it right when it happened, as in you're vomiting and someone kicks you in the side and you feel a sharp pain. It's unlikely you would have a rib fracture without some sort of outside trauma. (possible, but unlikely - esp. just from violent vomiting).
Even if you do go to the doctor, there's nothing they can do for you. Normally we tape patients but really that's just for their peace of mind.
Also - any sort of rib pain sucks. I'm sorry. I hope you feel better soon. It might be that one is slightly out of place. Go visit a physical therapist and they can put it back in for you if you can't deal with the pain but usually the issue will resolve itself on its own.
