We are doing white elephant gifts with my ILs this year. I want something outrageously awesome... Meaning, so bad it's good. Lol. My ILs set the bar high for this stuff. Cheap is good. (<15 bucks).
Last year I found a new 1995 calendar of Michael Bolton at the thrift store. He was shirtless on the cover. It got quite a few laughs, and the recipient has it proudly hanging in his garage
Is there a celeb or someone she particularly likes (or humorously hates?) Then maybe play off that to find something random (like that Oprah shirt- OMG!)

I usually will check out Goodwill if there are any good/random finds. Last year's present was a 25lb Snowman Candle which is almost as awesome as anything Michael Bolton related. I came home with a cat sweater vest so win-win.
We once brought a milkshake ($5). It was a good one, from a gourmet gelato shop. It was not chosen, lol. Those people didn't have the same taste as we do, I guess.
Our group of friends has been exchanging the same set of Russian President shot glasses for four years now. They came from Cost Plus, which I often find to be a good source of white elephant material. I also second Goodwill.
