I'm starting up my training for my next half within the next couple weeks, and I'm not sure how to go about it. This one will be the complete opposite of the last (lots of big hills vs. downhill/flat). I found a plan that incorporates hill workouts into it, but should my long runs also be relatively hilly? I'm lucky in that I have a good combination of flat and hills right outside my door, I just need to figure out my courses because I pretty much avoided the really steep hills in my area up until now, so I don't know the mileage compared to my usual routes.
I would definitely work on getting as many hills as possible into your long runs and do a long run max of at least 13. That extra mileage will help so much.
