This will be out first year that we don't have any plans until the evening. I'm thinking of a late breakfast/brunch, but am not sure. Do you have any traditions you do Christmas morning?
Drink coffee, open presents, sit by the fire in my PJs while the kids go crazy, eat breakfast, listen to Christmas music. Then we get ready around 10-11 to go to the ILs for lunch.
Before kids, we would go to SIL1's house for breakfast and then SIL2's house for gifts. Now that we have kids, we wake up, get our stockings, open gifts and eat breakfast. Then we play with our toys for a bit, take showers and meander over to SIL2's house for the giant gift extravaganza.
I just had to put a stop to ALL of the rushing around on Edith's second Christmas. It got to be too much. I do miss my BIL's kickass bacon though.
Chill and eat pioneer woman's French toast bake, sooo good.
That's what we used to do. But the last couple of years we've had a 12:00 turkey lunch at the ILs followed by a 7pm roast beef dinner at home with my family, so it was just too much food. We try to go for a lighter breakfast now.
Well, before we had the baby we would sleep in. Then do breakfast/brunch with drinks like mimosas or something. Then turn on christmas music and open gifts.
Let KHC open his stocking, make coffee and orange juice, open presents, eat breakfast, spend the rest of the day in pajamas.
Growing up we couldn't start presents until my dad had a cup of coffee in his hand.
It was like a serious rule. I remember a couple of times, probably the times he had to work Christmas Eve late, he would come down late and my sister and I were just WAITING at the tree with his already-cooling coffee, lol. [He taught us how to make it when we were each 7.]

We have that rule, lol. I don't want to miss any of the excitement but I need my coffee.
I just know the first year the boys get up crazy early for Christmas I'm going to get hopped up in the excitement and go with them, thus setting an awful precedent for the rest of their childhood, lol.
We do stockings (and coffee. lots of coffee). Then gifts. Then DS2 will probably take a nap while DH and DS1 make a big breakfast of eggs, sausage, bacon, and cinnamon rolls. Then we'll play and hopefully go for a walk before heading up to my parents' house for early dinner.
We open presents. I videotape it all. We open them one at a time so it lasts longer.
Then we hang out all day play with our gifts, eat, lounge, play a game, maybe the wii. Watch a movie, go to a movie etc.
This is our 2nd year going back home after visiting my side of the family 2 hours away. So we drive home xmas eve night so M can have xmas morning at her home.
Before that, we used to stay at my mom's and then visit family throughout the day.

I have to remember these little tricks.
I've woken Lucy up every Christmas morning but her first. My little sleeper!
We do stocking and coffee, then presents. Then if we feel like it we eat, not always, but sometimes. Then we gather up and head to my IL's for the day. For dinner (1:00 sharp) and more gifts.
It's great Bc you prep the night before, just bake in the morning. We put our blueberries on 10 min before its done so they're warm and delicious.
Yummm!
Last year I made DH a southern benedict with corn cakes, shredded pot roast, and cholula hollandaise. It was bomb, but we may have to go sweet this year. That french toast sounds delicious!
Usually bake a breakfast casserole, then open presents and have some mimosas/hot chocolate with Bailey's. We stay in our PJs a good long time. I think this year I'm going to save all our animated Christmas movies (Rudolph, Charlie Brown Christmas, The Grinch) until Christmas morning.
This year we're not doing presents, so I think we'll just day drink and watch movies, which sounds like a great Christmas to me I think the new Hobbit movie may be coming out then, so maybe we'll watch that Christmas Day.

DH and I stay up late Christmas Eve and open gifts just the two of us. It is really nice to have a little yes time in the craziness. Christmas morning the kids open stockings and Santa's gift. We let them play. There will be coffee, tea, cocoa, and some sort of yummy breakfast. Family starts showing up around the time breakfast is ready. We eat, then spend the next several hours opening gifts and playing. We like to drag it out. We we will have snacks later in the day, but breakfast is our big, main meal. After gifts are open we play games and just hang out.
I am so excited because this year we are going nowhere. We get to chill, open gifts and let the kids play. No stress. No yelling to hurry up. H and I will drinnk mimosas.
i also have a easy meal planned so again I don't get stressed by trying to cook. I really want it to be all about the kids this year and set us up for success.
get up DD enjoys her Santa gifts, we do stockings, The ILs come over and have breakfast and check out DD's santa loot then head home. We get dressed then head to the IlLs where we do stockings and open gifts with them before having lunch. Last year DD napped and we chilled and watched A Christmas Story hoping to do the same this year if we can get her to nap. Once she's up she enjoys her new stuff then we get dressed up and head to the extended family Christmas Dinner and gift exchange. at GMIL's which takes up the evening. By the time thats over its time to get DD to bed and once she's asleep we put on a Christmas movie and relax on the couch for the rest of the night.

We spend Christmas Eve with his Mum, have dinner, gifts and usually sit around and play a game or something. It usually just fiance and I for dinner, and SIL and hubby come after his family's dinner. On Christmas Day we are with my parents. We get up early to go over and have cinnamon buns/coffee/tea etc and open stocking and gifts. Some years we see his Dad for lunch or we'll go Boxing Day. Then go back to my Mom and Dad's for dinner with the rest of the relatives that show up later in the afternoon. We are lucky that we are all close by and its about a 15-20 minute drive in between each of those homes.
This year its just my family on the 25th, so we'll sit around all day and relax/chat/eat/drink. My brother is out of town (and comes home) and so are the other relatives, so we enjoy catching up. I'm looking forward to a quieter year as this year his Dad is out of town, so one less house to visit, and the house I like the least (relationhsip is strained). So it works out.

We don't open any gifts on Christmas morning. We're at my MILs, and we do gifts, etc. with them on Christmas Eve. Christmas morning we wake up, finish packing, MIL makes my kids pancakes or waffles, and shortly after breakfast we get on the road to my family. We do gifts with them around lunchtime, stay for dinner, then start the 3 hour trip back home.
Somehow I'm always the one who ends up putting together all of my baby sister's toys after we are done opening presents.
Last year she got 3 HUGE sets of those My Friends Legos and wanted help building them. It took all of the movie Brave and recruiting my H to help us get it done.
The year before that it was a Barbie airplane.
She's 11 now so I hope the years of toy assembly bullshit are over. Just in time for me to start assembling stuff for my own kid.
Besides that, we watch movies and eat cookies and take naps.
It's a lazy day for us. It's just H, me and the dog. We have some coffee and make cinnamon rolls while watching TV/hanging out. Then we'll open stockings and gifts and dink around with them most of the day.
